They will probably be around the same price after this weekend.

Dug up some stats, don't know if it matters at all.

Players playing in same position as CCrichton against the Bulldogs

    Rd1 - Addo-Carr, 2 Tries, 212 RMs for 36 points.
    Rd2 - Ferguson, 1 Try, 224 RMs for 42 points.

Definitely a chance there to earn some points.

Just caught up with last night's game posts. As someone without Smith, can I just say that the frustrations of Smith owners are delicious Razz.

In all seriousness, lets not panic here. 52 three-game average is fine, and Smith will certainly improve later in the year. I don't think there is a universe where Smith isn't a top 17 keeper.

The 17 I ended up with for the round:

    1. Tedesco
    2. Dufty
    3. Hayne
    4. Kennar
    5. Ponga
    6. Cartwright
    7. Doughy
    8. Lodge
    9. Smith (c)
    10. Aarow
    11. RFM
    12. Murray
    13. NBrown

    14. Cook
    15. CThompson
    16. Griffin
    17. Kikau

Hopefully start moving up the ranks finally!

18 & 19 - Inglis and LCroker. Benched due to Kennar and Doughy scoring better so far.
Watch Inglis run riot now. Sad

No way will I be getting rid of Smith. And nor should anyone else. He stays until seasons end. If you didn't start with him (ala Rabbit, Vanish etc etc) then you haven't done yourself a disservice and given yourself an opportunity for a free look when he cheapens up and hopefully hits his stride.

I will, however, have to put a bit more thought into who to captain each week. With Cook an option along with a few others in my side and the hope of bringing SJ in next week, it may not be so cut and dry anymore.

For those worried about Smith he would have hit close to 70 without the uncharacteristic errors and scoring inconsistencies from Stats.

100%. Yeah, its annoying paying top $ for him, knowing you could have strengthened team elsewhere at start of season. But you don't punt him.

Even though I own him, im loving Smiths poor scores, I think it makes the competition much more interesting now that Captaincy isn't so predictable.

Smith's form is just good news for those who don't have him yet. He's still going to be a gun, we'll just get him 200k cheaper Smile

It is a fair point. A lot of his negative stats were very uncharacteristic.

Well if you think it'll continue trade him out. I'll happily bet anyone on here that he will still be the highest average scorer in the game come seasons end.

Could this be laziness creeping up with his age though? I did not see him anywhere near the middle when defending other than the last 10 minutes. Plus he also gave up kicking duties when he has been striking at 95% this year so far. Maybe 400 games is not so clear cut now >.<

No way will I trade him out.

    1. He is a fantasy GOD.
    2. He is second behind my favourite player (Will Chambers)

To an extent I agree @Fortitude. I also started with him so that's a bit painful but I kinda like the challenge it presents now within regards to captaincy. In years past it was either CS9, CP13, Fifi or Gal. With one of those gone and the other three "underperforming" it makes for a much more interesting weekly proposition.

I don't ever look at how much money a gun player loses simply because when I buy someone like that they're in my team til the end. I'm also looking at a flip side where if it was Smith scoring 70 and cook scoring 50 I'd be stoked with that.

Yep. He is set and forget. I mean 9/10 ill captain smith, the other 1 time ill think about captaining Jurbo, Cook, Merrin then ill captain Smith.
