Maybe, in the sense that only Austin was dropped, but I've got a feeling Tapine was rushed back a bit earlier because our forwards have been under performing and wouldn't be surprised to see Whitehead back to lock and Tapine into 2nd row come game day.rhinoceroo wrote:

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 20
Got TPJ in last week.. Will keep him, no obvious guys to jump on anyway. Kikau will come in for him so not too bad.
Merrin to Murray for me this week.
I'm worried about my halves (Doughei, Cartwright & Croker), I have cash to spend but no one around that sub 600 range looks worth while jumping on right now. JMK is it really, but hardly a keeper.
Will hopefully get some more cash out of Carty and jump sideways to a rejuvenated Croft or Moses in a few weeks, and hope like hell Reynolds has another 2-3 weeks out.

Your main problems imo are a lack of on-field leadership and terrible, terrible use of interchange. And, given how the Warriors marched down the field twice in last two minutes, probably fitness. Not sure getting rid of one of your three underperforming halves solves any of those things.

Yeah, but it was a fucking huge one. I'm surprised they were even able to fit 4 players on the bench with Austin there.

Raiders problem is 1-17 think they are the best player in the comp. A team of champions will always be beaten by a champion team. Too many chiefs and not enough indians.

Roosters v Warriors - L. Mitchell v Hiku
Latrell is going to have a field day running at Hiku IF they give him the phuckin ball. I'm marking Latrell down for at least 5 tb's.

And even if it's the round after I'm thinking Panthers halves are bit of a trap ATM.

See what you mean, but in some way no chiefs at all. If they had a James Graham type who (verbally) smashes into his own players and the referees as well as (physically) into the opposition for every minute he's on the field they'd probably have won all three games.

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 20
Ok with Carty on the bench I think I'm bringing Taupau this week. One or two of Griffin/Rochow/TPJ? look likely to be gone in the next few weeks to make way for a gun half but otherwise I think it looks ok.
39k bank
Smith
Fifita Taupau
Murray Arrow RFM
Doueihi JMK
Mitchell Kennar
Tedesco Ponga Thompson
Cook
Griffin
Rochow
Lodge
TPJ
Kikau
Isaako
Croker
Any help please?

Once logged on, is there a way I can go straight to my last post without poncing around all over the place like SI trying to post a gif. This is possibly going to cop me a heap of shit and I probably deserve it, but be gentle penis faces. Please. For all our benefits

I'm keeping and playing as bigger problems to address but the reverse could be true. -14 in negatives last game. Was 22 after converted try from memory in less than 10 mins then another 8 from conversions in a game where they hacked up means 9pts positive additional in rest of the game. Almost regret not trading him

Yeah bye planning is going well. No origin players and with planned trades should have 12 already for round 13, with no origin players there to screw things up over that period, so just 4 more trades required barring injury, leading into round 13 to have the planned 16 playing then.
This should be my last tinkering to get the right squad composition, should be able to hold onto trades from here, while getting great scores each week. Seriously think the team can start turning in 850-900+ each week the next while and be building bank at the same time.
I do see having PODs from the top teams as being important though. You can't easily make ground on the top teams without them. If my players perform, I can easily catch them up, especially over the bye period.
You seem very confident and sure of your team. My advice for you is don't pick up a pod just to chase the leaders, pick the players who can score the most points for cheapest price.. Ignore Origin for now.
It's only round 3 and plenty more curve balls will be thrown our way between now and Origin so expect to burn a lot more trades... Even more so than years past because your now trying to cover short term injuries with 4 less players.
Few times I've been within striking distance of the title and lost because of my Pods. You need a lot of luck to go your way to win this thing, good luck.

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 20
Don't know if this is smart but if I downgrade Cronk to JMK (he's like the only decentish cow I don't have) I can trade Merrin to a 2RF gun like Brown or anyone through Kikau switching from the bench. I'll also have around 300k in the bank for a rainy day. I'll have to play Doueihi and Croker or JMK so I dunno if this sounds good. Alternatively, I can get Mbye in for Cronk, but then the Merrin trade leaves me nowhere, as I don't see any viable options below 650k in 2RF (I already have Murray.) I was thinking of maybe going Arrow as I then get 165k left but is that a good idea? I feel like they will get very similar scores and for a price difference of 200k

Yeah, I just popped him on the EMG bench, just to wait and see what role he'll play.
