I watched it on Fox League - the commentators there were with the refs - the players are the ones who need to change their ways.

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 22
That was an atrocious game to watch for sure, but I think it sends a pretty obvious message for fantasy.
The Storm lost all discipline towards the end sure, but they and especially Smith are pretty clearly being targeted for all the under-the-radar crap Bellamy has snuck into the game over the years. They have always pushed the limits of what is acceptable and they're finally being pulled up on it with consistency. I think it's good, personally, but I don't see them overturning their entire playstyle and culture in a week or two.
Smith scoring <50 two weeks in a row is warning bell territory maybe, but this game was DEFCON 1. He's out for Friend or DCE next week for me, Merrin to Matterson. At the very least they all play round 13. Happy to cut my losses.

At the end of the day, one of two things are going to happen now:
1 the media and the clubs will put that much pressure on the NRL that we go back to the shit show we have been whinging about for the last couple of decades and absolutely nothing has been gained;or
2 the Refs will continue to do their job and the Coaches and Players will actually have to play by the rules-you know, the actual rules of the game.

The fox commentators were disappointed in the ref's not sin binning more people.
I switched over to 9 after the game because I don't like The Professor, and I like listening to Gould every now and then, to confirm that he is still talking crap.
Bellamy press conference on channel 500 shortly

Won't happen.
If teams want to win games, they will learn to adapt.
If you are the team that aren't adapting when others are, you're not going to be making the finals.

Id personally hate if the focus is all about whose right. As to me clearly, some if the 33 penalties were not even valid.
Thats a huge part of what's going on.

Start sinbinning the players as well. When a team is down to 12, 11, or even 10 players in a match, surely they would get the message...........

3. No one changes, and more and more games become Union-like penalty-a-thons, paving the way for a merger between the codes.

Only had Fifita. Gotta be happy with that! Was pretty dejected last night with the cows losing and JT scoring 19 but swings and round abouts hey.

Anyway... does anyone know the latest on Matt Lodge's anus?
Fucked up with the loophole and will need to manually swap Havili for Lodge before the Raiders game or risk ending up with Nichols' 5 points if Lodge is out.

I'd like to see the sin bin used more often. Especially when teams give away penalties while defending their line.

Some? Huge? I'm sure you'll watch the game again mate. Mark down how many weren't at all valid and let us know. I'm happy to be proven wrong but deadset, the last 5 minutes after all that went on in the first 75, is testament to how the coach and players think this is just another flash in the pan from the refs.
