Thanks @mearcats yeah I'm still shaking my head as to why I did it but I suppose it allowed me to get my HLFs sorted and also bring in JFH who has been an astute buy so far. So I guess yes I did burn 2 trades but I think my team looks all the better for it. Lodge and RFM are next on my trade list but hopefully not for 2-3 weeks at least. Care to run your eye over my team?

I like it. I agree actually, I think things like minutes, how a player fits into a team structure, the teams strength as a whole and their dependency upon said player etc all ties into what makes a keeper. I just don't like throwing the big G around willy nilly like we do at times. May reserve that for a bit later on in the season I think.

As for McGuire playing lock... I haven't been a fan of Bennett for a few years now but seeing both Wallace, Taylor and Arrow at the Titans broke the camels back for me. How in Gods name did they get away? Just short sightedness and stupidity.

    Team without Murray

    Smith
    Kikau, Lodge
    Arrow, RFM, Rochow
    DCE, Walker
    Aitken, Hiku
    Ponga, Teddy, Thompson

    Cook, Griffin, Havili, Maloney
    JMK, Kennar, Isaako, Murray

    That is with no trades.
Think I will manage to push into top 100 with this lot?

    I'll have a looksee Pookus.

You're right, halves are definitely a concern for you. What sort of coin do you have up your sleeve mate? No way in hell would I be offloading Brown with only a two week injury, to me that seems insane. However, you do need to do something with those halves. Can you get Koro, Hunt or Matterson as a stepping stone or is Mbye the most you could afford?

I think getting out of Griff is the right thing to do, question is just for who.

Playing RFM in the back three. Risky move.

Late to the Ponga party and want him in. Thinking of trades Lodge > JFH & RFM > Ponga.

    Thoughts?

    Welcome mate!

Straight off the bat, are you actually just a rectangle Very Happy  ?

The more sensible guys on the forum, and Filth as well...  Very Happy  have pointed out that I shouldn't have just assumed your shape, so for that I am sorry rectangle.

I am a mat in real life, and my name is actually Matt, so I tend to jump to conclusions.

In regards your trades, love them! I wouldn't be encouraging anyone to trade Lodge and RFM out yet, but that is definitely a winning combo to bring in. You should get much better averages out of those guys all things being equal, and also JFH should have more cash left to make than both of them.

I like it mate! I'm assuming this is post trades seeing as Smith is back in?

You're sitting in a pretty decent position with some good guns in that side that play the right rounds etc. I really like Fifi, I would have grabbed him at the start of the season had I of known he was going to make himself ineligible for SOO but then he didn't start that hot so I was ok with not having him. Damn I want him now tho.

I think what you need to do now is start working out a trades plan roster. Guys you've already mentioned like Lodge etc are going to need to go. as is TPJ eventually. The key is hitting it at the right time. I've been spending a hell of a lot of time over on MTB's site looking at projections and predictions and working out the timing of my trades based loosely on those numbers. Sure, they're projections so it's not definitive but I've found it massively helpful so far.

I don't know if we'll get 3 weeks outta RFM... I have him as well but based on my numbers I think we'll only get this one and the next. If he has a better week this week then that'll stay the execution which I'll be happy about but the BE is slowly rising so he needs to step up. Keep an eye on that one.

Ditch Lodge, Rochow, Griffin or RFM for Fifita? I was thinking Griffin but he plays round 13.

That's almost the same as my team.  Change Macca for Smith and Croker for MBye and that's my 17.  I'm actually thinking about running Havilli over Lodge anyway.  With Brown depends if you want to hold or not.  Your team is decent enough to hold.  Halves are thin obviously but the injuries don't change that.

    Only Mbye and Smith different?
Well now i have to bring Mbye in.
Macca to Smith next week Razz
Cheers for the advice though. Probably will hold.

Team for the week, benching Murray until further news. Ranked 77. Would froff on a top 50 this week.

    Cook
    Fifita, Arrow
Jurbo, Harris, Nichols (Really poor mans Murray)
    DCE, Cronk
    Croker, Isaako
    Tedesco, Ponga, Hiku

    Griffen, Lodge, Kikau, Havili

    Murray, Maloney, Godinet, Katoa.

Think ill stick with DCE as captain. He is looking a threat constantly, cant go past a half that either boots it a mile or takes on the line.

Not sure if mentioned, but Wighton has pleaded not guilty to charges with next court appearance in July.

Sticky said yesterday that he'll leave it up to Wighton to make the call on playing after a hectic week.

After I brought in Cotric last week - I'm sure hoping Wighton has a spell.
One would think after you won your first game of the season, you'd think about running the same team as much as possible, right? (particularly given that Cotric and the backline sparked most of their points....) Just wishful fantasy thinking.

Could do Griffin to Koro or Matterson but I am worried about both of their minutes. Any less than 80 and they arn't keepers.
At least Mbye is a keeper if i move him back to WFB :/

I am now considering turfing Havili this week instead of Griffin. With Murray and Brown out, I'm a little short on numbers and while Havili's BE is only 10, I'm wondering if he goes back to 25 to 30 score. He scored 24 in the week prior in 56 minutes.. If he scores 30 this week he will only rise another 24k.

Griffin has a BE of 34 but Barnett is out. There is potential he may play 80 again this week and score 40 - 45.

    Its a tough one.

I brought him in last week, no way i was bringing Maloney in. He made 57k and looks like generating a whole lot more in the meantime. DPP and looks a different player this year. Was 344k last week to.
