You're definitely buying him at a premium. $750K is about a 51 average. He's currently averaging above that so I guess he's marginally underpriced, but I think his price will probably hover around this mark except following some massive scores where it temporarily spikes up.

Nothing wrong with getting an in form keeper if you don't have better value trades to make though.

eeesshhh, hammys are dodgy as fuck! could be next week, 4 weeks even, maybe 8

Can't even compare the grade either really as so many factors effect the hamstring and I'd know

Yeah I've bit the bullet and traded him. The thought of running two of Croker/Havili/JMK in my starting side to cover him and Brown gave me the shits. It means I get Arrow in without having to sacrifice RFM earlier than I really wanted to, and hopefully he can snag a few more scores to get closer in value to Murray should I want to trade him back in

That's a hard one. I think if you are selling Murray you would want someone with a similar output points-wise. Well that was my theory anyway. However he's not going to lose value since he's not even on the pitch. Compare that to Whitehead who is on a downward trend. Whitehead has that big game in him, I just don't know if it's going to happen in time to save any of his value. So the way I see it, if you think he's going to score well this weekend then hold him, but I think I'd trade Whitehead over Murray 9 times out of 10.

FWIW I went Whitehead to DCE last week myself otherwise I would be in the same spot as you this round.

Edit: plenty of options around that price range too, or even cheaper if looking at a JFH-type character.

I'd be tempted to hold Whitehead this week.

Basing things on opposition isn't always a good idea, but facing the Eels who are averaging ~23 points conceded per game so far. The blowout loss to Manly kinda skews it a bit though.

Whitehead averaged 44 last year taking away those first 2 CTR games. I had him on my list this year, since starting lock I could easily see him as keeper material, but his Mr. Fix It Aubs kinda role and being back in SR means you're probably gonna have to move him at some point though.

I think your trades were JFH and Cam in, so I'd stick with those.

If you were going to leave Whitehead out, then with his BE at 61, I can see why you'd just hold Murray and not risk losing any cash and looks like better keeper material, but depends who you're playing as an alternative until Murray is back I guess. If it's someone solid, then maybe just trade Whitey now rather than Murray out and back in.

Whitey with an average 44 would lose 21k this week.

    Yeah same boat here.

Originally traded Brown, but have reversed to gone Murray to JFH instead.

Don't like the idea of Brown being back in 1-2 weeks and seeing Murray still not back for maybe another week or two after. No confirmation of that until it happens, but that's my assumption at this stage.

I traded Murray for that very reason. I don't have a lot to base it on but I have a hunch that Murray is probably going to be out closer to the 4 of a '2-4 week' possible injury span. I know he is only out because he couldn't complete the captain's run, but it's not a good sign all the same.

Yeah I will be going Murray with you guys I reckon then

Could always trade Murray back in again but can't have both Brown and Murray sitting there for 2+ weeks

I'm certainly feeling a little less disappointed in missing out on Murray to date. Had more pressing issues to resolve a few weeks ago and never found the opportunity or sense to get him in. Wanted to see the cows in the paddock for a few more weeks.

Hopefully by the time the likes of RFM, Kikau, Griffin etc mature, he'll be back and I can get him in then.

Not keen on the hamstring issue either.

    RFM - JFH
    Murray - Fifita

Feels weird to have such a thin second row though since that used to be such a gun position but with Murray gone I'm just rolling with JFH, Griffin, TPJ as starters which I'm a bit weary of.

Contemplating going Dufty out instead of RFM. Thompson is doing a good enough job to start. Dufty feels the type to drop 80 as soon as you move him though.

Guns aren't much use when they're not playing Laughing

He'll be an easy trade in for a peaked cow or injured gun at 673k when/if named back at starting LK in a few weeks.
