2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 61

Got 5 trades left, 34k ITB and placing 436th overall. My side is set, so I don't really need to make any trades but I'm going for some PODs to try and make up ground.

My likely trades this week will be trading out Ryan James for Adam Reynolds (I have lots of forwards anyway and need one extra half, plus Reynolds has been killing it), and then trading AJ Brimson to Jarryd Hayne (Hayne has a BE of -23 so it has to be this week, otherwise I'd hold Brimson a week).

Thoughts?

I don't know how much Widdop is, but I'd get him out before worrying about Hayne. Although Johnston ain't gonna be scoring you many points if he isn't scoring tries.

I think Widdop is fine, especially as a 3rd half to be played on matchups (with SJ and ARey being my top 2), plus the Dragons have a juicy draw. If he starts stinking it in the next couple weeks, I MIGHT trade him for Pearce.

As for AJ, I got him in as a 3rd/4th WFB, plus I have faith in him to keep killing teams. My top three WFBs at the end will likely be Turbo, Ponga and either him, Isaako or RTS.

Just noticed McDonald is named to start with Mann on the bench. Just read he's in a moon boot and could be out 2-3 weeks! Hmm.....

Ah yes, just saw you have Ponga to come back in with Isaako also so fair enough. I'd be tempted to trade AJ out over Brimson though. Brimson can cover the backs if need be and seems to have a decent 30 odd low floor and scoring 50 on the weekend.

As handy as Brimson has been, AJ has a much higher ceiling and similar base. If Hayne had a higher BE, I'd wait a week but I won't be able to afford him from Brimson if he fucks up the dogs as much as I think he will

Off topic but it looks like we may go the whole season without a coach being sacked. When was the last time that happened?

Also a little off topic, but Korbin Sims has signed with the Dragons. Should be good news for the retention of the other young forwards coming through.

Im after the same thing but maybe Milch is right about a red dot for looping.

Im interested in Clifford if he gets a run or Tom Wright. Not likely he will keep his spot but you never know.

I don't know yet. That's the confusing thing.

@ wackos - the nrl gave Manly an exemption to play Fainu due to L. Brown being out injured but now L. Brown is back from injury & Fainu is still being selected in first grade.

To me this sounds like Fainu won't play this week as the nrl will prevent it.

Brown played NSW Cup last week, although I suppose they could say "he wasn't at match fitness for NRL yet" or something.

I thought maybe Fainu had now been upgraded to top 30 with Hastings departure.

I am of the belief because of Hastings departure he was upgraded to a players contract

Yeah he has been upgraded into their top 30.

Thoughts on TPJ as a 18th man? If he can get over his injuries, just not sure if that's likely. Named to start, but we know what Wayne is like.. Holmes is my 19th, he'll be up and down each week.

Don't know if this has mentioned or how fantasy relevant it is - Sezer sounds like he's out for a few weeks with a hamstring issue.
