If we are to make the finals we probably have to win the next 3 against the Warriors, Bulldogs and Titans (first 2 at home). That would probably take us to equal 8th. Then we lose to the storm before the run home of Cowboys, Panthers, Rabbits, Eels and Dogs. I suspect we would have to win 4 from 5 of those games to make it into the finals. Maybe 3 from 5 at a stretch if there's some good wins to improve our +/-.
Just can't see it happening and us having the consistency to do it even though it's not the hardest run with only the Storm, Rabbits and Eels in the top 8 and 6 of the last 9 games at home. If we do manage to somehow win 8 from our last 10 to make the finals we'll deserve to be there though.
I suspect we win 4 of the last 9- Bulldogs x 2, Titans, and one of the games against the Cowboys, Eels or Panthers. Lose against Storm, Rabbits, Warriors and 2 of the above matches. I'm guessing that has us finishing around 11th or 12, which would be the first time we finish outside the top 10.
Seems a fairly logical breakdown which in reality would probably equate to losing the next 3 and then winning against the Storm....
Just too inconsistent, which I think is the nature of having such a young team.
Got to say looking over the last few pages and in the media etc. I'm surprised at the bagging of Boyd.
Other than a couple of glaring errors, that happen to most players (and tend to happen.....or be noticed more, when the team isn't going so well), I personally think he has been OK.
Certainly not in career best form but OK nonetheless.
More of an issue IMO is FAC.
Granted, it is easy to point the finger when our forwards actually had a go this week and Seggy in particular was the beneficiary......but gee it makes such a noticeable difference when Seggy or Turpin is straightening the attack and engaging the first few defenders.
I was happy to give the bloke a go on the back of past performance (and being the FAC) but he needs to get his body right or confidence back and sort his shit out.
It must be frustrating for Siebold after going from the most dynamic dummy half in the game to the least......sort of like driving a 3T Moving Truck when you usually drive a Ferrari
