We somehow are only 1 win outside the top 8. Heaps behind in +/- though. If we are to make the finals we probably have to win the next 3 against the Warriors, Bulldogs and Titans (first 2 at home). That would probably take us to equal 8th. Then we lose to the storm before the run home of Cowboys, Panthers, Rabbits, Eels and Dogs. I suspect we would have to win 4 from 5 of those games to make it into the finals. Maybe 3 from 5 at a stretch if there's some good wins to improve our +/-.

Just can't see it happening and us having the consistency to do it even though it's not the hardest run with only the Storm, Rabbits and Eels in the top 8 and 6 of the last 9 games at home. If we do manage to somehow win 8 from our last 10 to make the finals we'll deserve to be there though.

I suspect we win 4 of the last 9- Bulldogs x 2, Titans, and one of the games against the Cowboys, Eels or Panthers. Lose against Storm, Rabbits, Warriors and 2 of the above matches. I'm guessing that has us finishing around 11th or 12, which would be the first time we finish outside the top 10.

Yesterday's match said more about the Sharks than Broncos IMO. They were woeful when you consider they were missing Fafita and Graham (who has hardly played this year anyway). Our line speed is still QCup standard rather than NRL standard. Teams shouldn't be consistently putting up the bomb against us in the set following a try. Still it was nice to see that when you put in some players who play with enthusiasm like it could be their only game of NRL, that even if they're not the best players, or ready for NRL just yet, that you can at least put up a respectable performance that you can get behind as a supporter, as opposed to the tripe they've served up 75% of the time. If they can at least look they want to be there, if you add guys like Milford, Oates, Gillett, and Joe O, then they should be a top 8 team and look like a team that can be building to something in a couple of years.

Yes, I think so. Sharks should have put 40 on us in the second half. It was a great win for our young lads, but an embarassing loss for them.

Seems a fairly logical breakdown which in reality would probably equate to losing the next 3 and then winning against the Storm....

Just too inconsistent, which I think is the nature of having such a young team.

Got to say looking over the last few pages and in the media etc. I'm surprised at the bagging of Boyd.

Other than a couple of glaring errors, that happen to most players (and tend to happen.....or be noticed more, when the team isn't going so well), I personally think he has been OK.
Certainly not in career best form but OK nonetheless.

More of an issue IMO is FAC.

Granted, it is easy to point the finger when our forwards actually had a go this week and Seggy in particular was the beneficiary......but gee it makes such a noticeable difference when Seggy or Turpin is straightening the attack and engaging the first few defenders.

I was happy to give the bloke a go on the back of past performance (and being the FAC) but he needs to get his body right or confidence back and sort his shit out.

It must be frustrating for Siebold after going from the most dynamic dummy half in the game to the least......sort of like driving a 3T Moving Truck when you usually drive a Ferrari

As a perennial 9th team supporter, it's the hope that kills you. At the risk of being a Bennett basher, purge he's cronies, bring in the new, cop a rebuild phase and hail the baby Broncos. Just hope it's not Hasler or Taylor you have as coach.

maybe they need to bring brown in to re-build the club, then bring bennett back in after all the hard work is done to get them over the line?

Rumours of Jack Bird to Sharks have come up again.

As much as I think he's a "premiership player", we're paying overs for a centre. I'd love to see him on the park full time, but if someone offered to take him at full contract value, we might be best off letting him walk.

Poor bugger. He has that fire we're missing in the backs.

Surely he plays 1 or 6 next year if still at the club?

all week? it's been distracting me since like his second game in this year! I imagine he had a conversation with some-one in which he said "First grade? with old man Macca here? There's no way that's happening, shit, if I play first grade this year i'll cut my hair like I belong on the set of Deliverance!"
