Money isnt everything but if you are top 3 in your job but earning less than the top 15 that will cause issues. Haas is already top 5, down the track there will be problems guaranteed.

people comparing Haas and Fifita contracts have to remember that the two contracts were signed in VERY different circumstances, Fifita is signing immediately following a breakout season, Haas was signed after 3 short injury-riddled games, all of which were fine performance-wise, none of which set the world on fire, people forget there were questions about whether Haas was worth the 3 million we bet on him at the time.

I think it's overs for Fifita, I just don't think forwards are worth that sort of coin. Broncos won't win a Premiership with Fifita and Haas on their books, that's my prediction.

Save that for the bold prediction thread and put the ice pipe down and move away slowly.

Kahu is a good player when healthy, would take him at any position over Boyd at this stage in his career
must be thrilled with your new signing
anyway, posted in the fantasy thread but more relevant here, Siebs is giving first crack at fullback to Isaako, with Milf and Croft as the halves, and Boyd training at centre/wing, is also training Tesi Niu at fullback as an eye to the future. really interested to see how Isaako handles the back, has flashed potential to be a damn good running fullback, hopefully last years form is just down to a bad case of the off-field distractions he had mixed with second-year syndrome, he had a really good nines tournament to end the year so that's something to draw from, I dream of a world where Herbie gets a crack at his wing, but it reads like Boyd is going to get a spot in this starting side, would think Staggs and Bird have the centre spots locked down, so i guess he goes to wing, which would be anti-viagra.

Yeah he is garbage (or has been so far)
Can only imagine he is on a minimum wage, which is fine by me

If Gids can captain off the bench in SOO, Darbs should find this a walk in the park. You know, the spare back-line player that isn't required, and gets 8 minutes at the end because someone wants an early shower, or the entire time has put the pool cue in the rack because we've run up a cricket score?
Give him the super-sub role. If any of the youngsters stink it up, he can come on as a center / winger.
if not, he can spell Haas in the middle to show how committed he is.

3 weeks too early for post of the year. And 3 months too late for this year (if the slack ass mods actually did anything around here)

How did Fifita get away with his Bali incident. He effectively pleaded guilty when he paid the bloke 30k
The NRL is weak as plss when it come to the Rabbits Broncos and Roosters

Not how that works at all, settlement is not an admission of guilt.
I expected him to get, and he probably should have got something, but dude was held in a cell overnight and released with no charges, the only evidence being security footage shot on a potato, showing a blurry-ass bloke on a bike that maybe might've been Fifita, add to that the alleged incident can't even be seen on the video, if no-one steps forwards to the NRL to implicate him, there's argument to be made that they can't punish him for a thing they aren't even sure happened, he certainly wouldn't be the first person in a foreign country arrested for bullshit reasons and forced to buy their freedom at a mark-up.

haha, social media is hilarious, some of the comments re fifita are just embarrassing.
I did think he'd cop a fine, but I'm not surprised at all that there was no suspension.

Bennett has gone down with an achillies injury. No truth to the rumour he'll be medically retired at seasons end when Bellyache becomes available so his salary doesn't count to the support cap.
Side question: What ever happened to the support cap t was suppose to be phased ion over the last couple of years then never heard anymore of it ??

Given the Norths Devils last game is against the Pride, seems kinda amusing that the Darius Boyd retirement tour will start and finish in North Qld.

He must be shattered. Still - if you've looking a career ending injury in the face, it'd be nice to be on 800k a year. I hope he's saving his dollars, because he appears to be held together with duct tape. The Bruce Reid of the NRL!
Arthritis, a bunch of re-co's by the time he's 24. He'll come back from this, but I'd suggest the odds are against him being a force again. And if he doesn't string together the better part of a season, he won't be looking at any big contracts again.
It's a weird feeling - many conflicting thoughts.
1. Poor bloke.
2. Looked in good touch - was excited to see how the fullback experiment was going to work.
3. Eye-rollingly bad return on a high-profile import.
4. Equal amounts of expection and trepidation every time he touches the ball

How good was it seeing Darius back on a footy field.
