Lomax averaged 42.9 in the intrust so I don't think he'll be a flop. Soward thinks he should pip Aitken for a centre spot. I agree with like everything else. So do you think Hymel Hunt will be the other centre?

If you take out his -2 off the interchange and include his scores in the finals, he averaged 35 from three games, albeit at centre in the nrl. He was kicking goals too though

Zac Lomax is getting a few hype articles, so no doubt he'll be a flop

Wayde Egan and Jack Bird are both sub $300k, and if they start will be good bets

Payne Haas and Lindsay Collins are my bets for the Kane Evans PPM King crown this season, tempting everyone with their promise of only scoring 20 points a game, but doing it very quickly.


Tautau Moga is dirt cheap, but with Ramien at the Sharks now I'm not sure he'll get a spot.

I get the feeling Corey Allen will be a no go to start the year, might be a mid-season option
Bryce Cartwright will no doubt tempt a few if he gets his name in the 17

Brad Abbey's high score last year was 23 from his 9 games, but the fact he used to kill it in U20s will seem him pop up everywhere

Bevan French and Jamie Buhrer might sucker a few people in with their price, but don't think either will be worth it.

I only have 5 of the 13 you have mentioned in my initial draft team.

Lots of retirements and player movement in the off-season provide lots of great options.

Reuban Garrick is leading the pack to start in centre position for Rd 1 for Manly
Albert Hopoate has been breaking records in fitness training this pre season and is in Des Hasler plans for 2019 and will make debut (at some stage) for Manly

Another cheap option could be the Dragons winger Ravalawa (moved from Raiders). In sc they have this dude called the sc guru (probably like nrl has the Lone Scout). Anyway he reckons he has some mail coming out of the Dragons so it's one to monitor over the next couple of months.
Aitken is on the outer with McGregor with Lomax in line to start at ctr in round 1 & Ravalawa is in line to debut on the wing in round 1.

Apparent Reed Mahoney (Eels hooker) will play 80 minutes in 2019. The Eels are going to run a 4 forward bench with no utility.

Ah well may as well let you know he averaged 46.7 in three games he played 70 or more. Priced at 34

Ravalawa is dual, just the kind of player I was looking for.

Were you hoping he would somehow become a starting hooker in round 1 without anybody else noticing?

When people get worried about their secret PODs being discovered, they do realise that team lists are publicly available information?

Anyone thinking that B. Morris wfb 370k will do pretty on the wing at the Roosters. He's going to get a lot of attacking opportunities playing for the best team in the nrl.

Also further Eels rumours. Salmon has been training at ctr & apparently Takairangi will play reserve grade in 2019.

He is taking on the wing vacated by Ferguson right? My issue is trying to narrow down all the opportunities out there, as there appear to be so many.

If things go as currently expected, I expect Egan and Mahoney to take up slots 14 and 15 for most people. With Cook/Smith/McCullough as starter.

Plenty of time for that to all get chucked out though, we are still weeks away from anything close to a trial team list

So I did have a big post written up in regards to this, this will be much shorts.

Parra/Warriors HLFs are must have. Egan & Bird also a lot of value for them.

Lomax wont flop imo, but don't start him. He can definitely potentially string a few games together to earn cash.

I don't know much about Collins, but agree Haas may be unlucky to get enough minutes to get value.

Why does Tautau Moga lose a spot if Ramien leaves? He may still lose it initially due to the assault charges, but if he is playing Round 1 he can definitely score great.

Cartwright is a guy I will get suckered into. Brad Abbey as well, as I already know he will be Feeney 2.0 but I wont start him.

Some other guys that I am looking at are Ava Seumanufagai if he can nail down a starting spot. Which will be hard because he has Woods/Prior in front of him. Woods could also do the same albeit in a much higher price bracket.

B. Xerri could end up sneaking a starting spot with the hype around him. Kurt Baptiste also a guy that could make cash if he can get some decent minutes off the bench at the Cowboys, and someone I have an eye on. I heard the Reed Mahoney rumours last year I recall. He doesn't score amazing in the 80 minutes but should average around 40 points.

Ah, trial teams. My favourite time of year. Love the completely misleading assumptions that we make about those team lists.
