Just realised Munster is prices around 46. He will be starting alongside Morgan for the welsh lads this year

    Eels
    Edit

    8. Alvaro 45
    9. Mahoney 80
    10. Paulo 40
    11. Lane 65
    12. Ma’u 80
    13. Brown 60
    14. Terepo 30
    15. Mannah 30
    16. Niukore 20
    17. Moeroa 30

If they do end up going a 4 forward bench, Brown and Alvaro are surely no-gos and Mahoney is a must

Alrighty, vacation finished. Yes I could have picked my words better when in a hurry BUT I didn't see any favourable responses from the posts on here at the time. If you were are regular reader and not an occasional pop-in when convenient reader you would know this. I'm assuming from your comment you must have given favourable feedback last year. Have a nice day.

I'm tempted to load up with Taupau, A. Fifita in my frf with TPJ on my bench to cover frf & 2fr. There's quite a few mid range 2fr's that will score 40-50. Both A. Fifita & Taupau usually start the season on fire & will match most of the 2fr guns scores early on.

Having my first real dig into the stats courtesy of Milchy's spreadsheet

Few of my main players of interest and some stats/reasoning behind them

Jo Ofahengaue - Average 50 points in 60 minutes when starting, 39 in 45 minutes off the bench. Loss of McGuire and Thaiday he should be locked in to start at lock/prop. My preference over TPJ as I believe Ofa will be the workhorse with TPJ used as impact.

Joe Stimson - Averages 40.5 in 73 minutes when starting, 8.8 points in 18 minutes off the bench. Hoffman retirement will see Stimson lock down an edge and no longer be used in the second row roulette.

Anthony Milford - Pre-origin kick metres 297 per game. Post-origin kick metres 417 per game. After getting a taste of the representative arena Milford stepped up as the dominant half and significantly increased his base stats. His average jumped from 46-54 during this time with a solid floor to back up his well known ceiling.

Ryan Matterson - Starting average as a forward 51.6 in 72 minutes. 3 games off the bench and 3 at 5/8 for an average of 35 drops his price enough to be worth a look. Add a full off-season to (hopefully) get over the concussion issues and Matterson could emerge as a keeper.

Minutes definitely. Points will be close. I would have him around 15-18 minutes a game with around 22-24 points and being talked up as a PPM gun if he ever gets a starting spot

Hopefully this can get some conversation going. Who is the better keeper
    Cleary, DCE, Johnson?
    Tedesco, Ponga Turbo, RTS?
    Latrel, Marsters?
    Jake T, Taumololo?
    Fafita, Taupau?
    Cook, Smith, McInnes?
Feel free to add players you think are better or up there with the players i named in their respected positions

I've noticed a few people here on the Haas bus but a few think he will be a pain in the Haas.

Last year he only played 3 games. He played 20 min on debut, second game he only played 7 minutes because he failed a HIA, then the following week he received a season ending injury after 9 min. So remember his on field time last year was severely interrupted by injury. This year with the absence of Thaiday, Sims and McGuire should see significant play time.

Totally agree. I find it funny that people honestly think he's gonna play less than 30 when he's getting paid half a million a year

    I guess i can start.
Cleary. Priced around a 52 point layer because of the start of his season. but once he got back from injury and gelled with maloney he was averaging up towards 63 points per game. Can he continue that form this season?
Tedesco. although i do think RTS will shine without Johnson there i am still going Teddy. He is Undoubtedly the best WFB option in fantasy and in my opinion one of the most consistent players in fantasy.
Marsters. Most people would say Latrel, But Marsters is the more consistent option and can score high 30s low 40s without a try.
Jake T. The only reason i pick Jake here is because Taumololos work load will be a lot less with the acquirement of Mcguire.
I cannot pick between Fafita and Taupau. Both great fantasy wise.
    Cook. Just Cook.

In recent years the Tigers have paid a lot of money to play Farah, Nofoaluma, and McQueen in reserve grade, and I'm sure other clubs will have examples of their own. If they don't think he's up to it yet, he'll bide his time until he's ready, no matter what his salary is.

Even if Haas gets a guaranteed 30 minutes a week, is that really worth having in your team?
Won't score enough to be in your 17, might get enough to be an OK cash cow

I think the debate is whether he's a cash cow or not, I wouldn't be playing him. Thirty is decent for a base price. But IF the minutes don't come he's a dud. Whereas a base price back will play the full 80 minutes and could jag tries etc. So the minutes risk isn't there. But the other thing Haas provides is cover at FRF. If you're only running two decent FRF's then cover might be important to you.
