    Nice work Chewie.

I think it was Matt who had the concern of something stock standard not being of much interest but they don’t have to be crazy PODs. Murray a great example who would be 90-100% owned around here but “only” 25% in the game overall.

Bear in mind the new Fanatic team would be taking on Betsy from the finance department, we should absolutely just go with all of OUR popular picks

Plenty of time for new votes to come in. But it's supposed to be 50 points max votes per team. (maybe we can bump that up a bit to give a better spread of votes)

Hold on, are we voting on players prior to TLT? That's kinda a stab in the dark with respect to a number of potentially key guys this year isn't it?

There are 48 hours between TLT and first game kick off.

Are you volunteering to collate all votes and assemble a team in that timeframe?

We want to put ourselves in a position where after TLT we just need to tweak our team, rather than build it from scratch

To be honest, if rankings were emailed in, in a predetermined XL format (we could create a template), within 24 hours of TLT, it wouldn't be too much of a mission. Probably easier that collating a ton of posts from over a month. More importantly you'd actually get something that was sensible.

I haven't read the thread for a while though so maybe Im missing something, and I dont wanna be the guy that is suggesting something if consensus has already been achieved. I just wondered how we are supposed to vote if we dont know whats going on?

Forget my post mate - Im happy to help out if needed. I thought this thread was still in decision making mode around how this was working but having a quick flick through it seems Ranta is now no-0longer doing it and you are running it milch? As I said a while ago, Im all for the person (or people) who are donating their time to running this thing, being able to run it however they like.

Let me know mate if you need a hand.

Thats why an online poll makes it really fast and simple with no back end work required. Just set a cutoff 24 hours out from game 1, everyone gets 24 hours to vote. Going to be some huge opportunities missed if we dont start fresh after TLT.

R'n'T just to clarify Cap'n is running it, we just want to get the consensus team. Which both Chewie and Milchy have provided in different ways. It is just a quicker and easier method than having 50 polls to decide each position and then revising it to fit the salary cap. We will have changes during TLT.

But if you want to get involved in this period. Post up a squad of 21 guys, and assign them points on a scale of 1-5 on who you want the most in your squad for 5 points. Have it total up to 50, and dont stress about the salary cap, or positions unless you want to.

I see your point that we may miss that mid-range guy in this method, but once TLT comes we can formulate a bunch of trade ins/outs based on the teams. But this just gives us a starting point. Obviously a rookie not named wont make the squad and any obvious ones named will make the team.

Its guys that become must have like Nikora, Sivo and Leilua if named to start that arent getting points in these teams. TLT selections make all the difference in teams and there are always a few unexpected bolters in round 1.

We are still in decision mode, nothing has been finalised with regards to how we select the team. We are just trialling a few methods. We can abandon my proposed teams and go with a vote/other method if that is preferred

I mainly just think it's a good idea to come up with some sort of team as a starting point, so that we aren't too rushed after TLT. Most people will want to be tinkering with their own teams and not necessarily rush out votes for the community one.

It's the 80 / 20 rule fellas. This isn't designed to be a perfect solution that catches all scenarios. It gets us a foot in the door as a celebrity team and come TLT we have 24 hours to discuss the 20% that may change due to mid rangers getting a start, or rookies getting a start, or rookies not getting a start.

Or Dylan Nappa being suspended or JDB being suspended, Dylan Walker going to gaol (note to self, don't call your kid Dylan), Storm over the cap and having to shed players, sharks over the cap having to shed players, Corey Norman (just because he's due, it's been a fortnight)

I like this way of doing it, waiting till TLT to start just doesn't leave enough time. I'll try and get my 21 players up later today.

It looks like our team is shaping up like a cookie cutter team as expected, we might need to get some consensus on the HLF, CTR and WFB.

    McCullough
    Fifita, Tolman
    Arrow, Murray, Stimson
    Morgan, Munster/Watson/Brown
    Capewell, Holland/Bird
    Edwards, Drinkwater/Morris/CNK/Watson

    INT/EMG:
    Mahoney
    Egan
    Burr
    Lomax
    Nikora
    Keighran
    Haas
    Allan

In all honesty, I couldn't remember how to spell some of the names so I didn't include them.
Also couldn't for the life of me remember Watson's first name (Connor!) so he didn't make the cut for my team either.

Team looks interesting so far, kinda as expected with a few names of performers from the trials/WCC and exclusions from those who didn't go so well in trials/WCC.

    Let's keep it going. Smile
