I don't understand the Ballin hate, he's a solid player. I'd love to have him at Newcastle. Former QLD rep player and seems like a well respected clubroom.

We're effectively swapping Ballin for Farah and Taupau and losing money in the process, it's fucking ridiculous. He's also 31 coming back from a serious injury and we signed him for not one year but 2.

I thought that at first too but I think we're safe with him. There's no way he isn't in first grade, off the bench this year and starting next year.

when is the last time an nrl side played a trial game it somewhere near full strength and lost to a nsw cup/regional rep team/other lower grade sides that usually are involved with the early trials?

That second jersey looks alright..

It's ridiculous but now I think the best case scenario is Robbie goes, Ballin starts and Cherrington plays the same role as last year for the first part of the season. Then give Cherrington more minutes and possibly the starting role a bit later. The worst thing that can happen now is we lose Cherrington out of all of this.

Not really. The fans are used to it.

2. Roosters like flaunting the fact that they don't have a salary cap.
