Re: Wests Tigers 2016 Thread
You would think we would have wrapped ET back up by now if we were going to. Prefer he stayed, tackles all day and chimes in with some unexpected attack. We need that one bloke in the middle like that and start grabbing a big second rower or 2. Alioi looks like he could come on but we've said that about a gazillion wide runners who ended up just plodders.

Yeah, haha, speaking of which. I thought I read at one stage the Manly move was official but could have been a reverse troll!Pieman wrote:Is Sironen still there?

Yeah, I do too. Size and skill and breeding.
If it was his application you'd think the club and his old man would have sorted that out by now, but then again we were all young once. His younger brother is travelling pretty well.

I don't mind them, better than some other recent efforts. The neck/collar might take getting used to but can see myself buying one.

I don't like obtrusive sponsors logos that take away from the design. The yellow box for Bandy Andy's Handy Furniture can fuck right off.

Its got nothing to do with Wests vs Balmain if that's what your implying. Orange looks good and is different to other jerseys, besides Tigers have more Orange (and stripes) on them.

Told you 12 months ago Marina, the club needed to pick up its game.
Now we have RLPA etc. writing dossiers on our OHS, player welfare and culture.

But from what I read, it is the report that all clubs had assembled on their welfare strategies etc? And the quote about players feeling suicidal was regurgitated from pre-season 2015. Won't really get much info over this way.
Also, the statement from the Tigers claims the RLPA report has us at 2nd by their standards for 2016. If that is the case, then is it really only the Tele repeating shit that has now been dealt with?

Re: Wests Tigers 2016 Thread
The report is based on research that is 12 months old, was compiled through 2016 and now released, so everything done in 2016 which dragged the Tigers up to 2nd in 2016 aren't included. Still hard to think a coach who when advised that players were suicidal, left it to other players to monitor them would have changed. They've just shifted the responsibility, and probably rightly so.

Re: Wests Tigers 2016 Thread
Wests Tigers can confirm that Curtis Sironen has been granted a release from the final two years of his playing contract.
Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe thanked Sironen for his efforts during his time with the Club.
“On behalf of everyone at the Wests Tigers, I would like to wish Curtis all the best in the next chapter of his career,” Pascoe said. “Curtis has been with the Club for a number of years both through the juniors and in first grade.
“We wish him well in his future endeavours and appreciate his efforts while representing the Club,” he said.
Wests Tigers Head Coach Jason Taylor wished Sironen all the best at his new Club.

Not officially. Had talks with Newcastle before he activated his 2 year clause and has been talking to Manly recently. Last I heard it was Manly signing him.
