Think I was at all those matches live except the 2010 Cowboys and 2000 Warriors.

Was the 2006 Storm game the Slater stamp on Skandalis? - might have to record that game just for that so i can reaffirm my hatred.

Beating the Dragons in 2005 is perhaps my favourite league game ever, great build up and atmosphere.

    How is this possible???

    Wests Tigers 2016 Thread - Page 47 Lovett10

Not too worried about losing lovett but "over the cap"

I guess thats what happens when you employ primary schoolers in the salary cap dept. and choose to pay Robbie 700K to play for another club. We got rid of Siro too, JAC, Buchanan, cherrington, halatau (ret) as well.

we couldn't afford Idris or ET but brought them anyway putting us over the cap.

There's obviously a bit more to this story.

Lovett is contracted, so we can't just tell him to leave. His salary for this year still counts towards the cap, unless he voluntarily gives it up, or finds another club willing to pay him.

But our cap management is very poor.

if we keep Moses/Teddy/Brooks/Woods will we be able to afford another 14 players to take the field with them?

Surely this is in an effort to keep Moses Ted Brooks together.
Lovett sucks, not a big loss at all but one would think he isnt on much coin in the first place anyway.

What an absolutely inept group of blokes managing their salary cap.

Million dollar question, who has the worse salary cap accountants, the Tigers or the Eels? The answer will probably be the Eels but we're not far from them

Well things are obviously pretty fucking dire when you have a Knights supporter bagging your off-field competency!
Anyway, for what it's worth and in this instance, I tend to agree with said Knights fan....

Without knowing the precise financial situation of the Tigers, to me it reeks of throwing all your eggs in the one basket.
And don't get me wrong, sometimes that works (if it is a JT).....but not when it's a shitty basket that is heavily supporting Luke Brooks.

The stupid things is, unless they find someone willing to take him on, they don't actually save any money - either real cash, or within the salary cap.

They still have to pay him this years money, and it still counts in the cap.

Whilst getting a handy player for free is somewhat attractive, he'd probably be fairly well down the backrow pecking order at the Broncos and isn't the sort of big bopping prop we really need.

Most teams have settled their lineups for this years and probably don't have cap room so the best bet will be for him to go to super league if he can be off loaded there at short notice. I bet the tigers are wishing they got a bit more money for Robbie now

Well considering newcastle have just signed the best young talent in the game, at a bargain price, we are doing pretty good.
Letting a guy like Tariq sims go was an excellent move, swapping uate for buhrer - he's a genius.
Starting to keep young local guys, fitting in worker vets, newcastle is def moving in the right direction.

With the amount of player turnover the tigers have had over the last few years, it is beyond belief how they are still fucked by the salary cap.
