    Happy 2019 all.

Any thoughts on Pearce? Looks a good deal at his price to me, average 50 last year in a disjointed season and will be part of a better side this year. Are people scared off by Ponga being in the halves?

A lot of people are running the Morgo and cheapy or even double cheapy in the halves that I've seen which may explain also.

Pearce is a solid POD and he doesn't play origin, but Cleary I think is just uniformly better otherwise for pretty much the same price

People are on Cleary because post origin last year, he averaged 63 points.

Take out the 2 games Maloney missed, where Cleary played with May and Peachey at 5/8th and Cleary's post origin average drops to 56.
With Maloney around, Cleary averaged 191 kick metres, with May/Peachey he averaged 360 kick metres (and by coincidence or not, he kicked a lot more conversions in those games)

Its still a better output than the 51.5 he is priced at. He is discounted due to 1 injury effected game, and some very low scores during origin (how confident are you of him maintaining high scores during origin this year?)

Take out the game Pearce only played 42 minutes in, and he averages 52.
Main question is if you think Ponga at 6 will hurt or aid his scoring

On Nathan Cleary. During origin last year his scores were 37, 62, 33, 32 and 18 (he got sin-binned in that last one)
Discount the roinmd 3 game he got injured in, and they were his 4 lowest scores of the year.

If you hold him over origin this year, are you expecting him to main his regular season average over that time, or are you expecting a drop. And if a drop, how much?

Exclude injury and sinbin, and his average last year went from 63 to 41 when origin was on.

I picked mine a week ago and haven't logged back in. I don't see much point. If I had heaps of time to kill I would noodle, but I don't so I'm not going to make time until TLT. I guess it's wise to tinker to keep up with what's going on, but doesn't take long to make amendments when we have team lists.

I'm the same. I have a core group of guys I will almost definitely have, plus an extended list in my head of players who are maybes, but the final make up depends alot on TLT, and hence I cannot be bothered tinkering until then.

Those stats can't be right. Tolman 43 run metres. He made almost that many scoring his try, so made no metres for the remaining 25 minutes he was on the field? I don't think so.

I hope Tolman flops this year. I really don't think he will score as well as others think.

Having just looked at the highlights, he ran 19m for his try.

He made 5 runs total, so 6m/run for the other 4. Completely believable.

I didn't think things were that bad. TLT pending obviously. We still have a few options + some more risky ones as well.

How come Albert Hopoate didn't play the trial if he is in contention for a spot? Or is he not allowed to play an NRL trial because he's not 18 yet? Tom Dearden played for the Broncos (also 17), but obviously that game was against a Q CUP team..

It is Albert Hopoate's birthday today, so we;ll find out on Saturday if he is considered any chance to start the season in number 1.

Fox Sports article yesterday claiming Brendan Elliott might get fullback spot to start the year. Not sure if that was fluff or actual inside knowledge

Other than Zac Lomax, who are people worried about?

And with Lomax, if he doesn't make the team, another cheapie will, so the only real concern is if neither can cement a spot and they flip flop in and out of the team for the first few rounds.

Has anyone thought of just plonking Taupau and Fifita at prop?
