I've ended up with a team I'm reasonably happy with until TLT, but it has Moses in it Shocked Shocked He killed me last year.

Can swing him to Hughes/Edwards types, guess it just means I've gotten away from starting a Pearce/Cleary type.

Yes, have been mulling this for a while, and have posted about it already.

The problem I end up with though, is having to trust a basement priced player like Dylan Brown in my playing 13. I guess, having DPP Watson at WFB may give some flexibility if an alternative cheap WFB goes well (of which, there are very few), and i have to sub out Brown.

There is a safety in numbers to having Morgan, which would allow for other fires to be put out, before dealing with him (if he doesn't do as well as expected).

Yea i am thinking of running pearce/sj and brown but not sure if i have the balls...plus if morgan kills it could score just as well the them. Hmmm

If you are picking Morgan because of "Safety in numbers" - did you also pick Croft last year for "safety in numbers" just so that you didn't feel left out in having to waste trades dumping him from your team?

I would say get Morgan or don't based on your own evaluation and forget the pack. Nothing worse than getting someone you think will be a dud, just because everyone else has him. and then see that player is a dud. You have missed a chance to skip the pack and have to waste trades and money just to get in the guy you originally wanted

    LAM + Edwards VS Surgess/Vaughan + Hughes

Thoughts? Other FRF is Fifita & other WFBs are CNK & Watson

You say "only" 50-55 minutes, yet in 6 starts at lock last year, Radley averaged 43 minutes, so to go to 50-55 minutes is a significant increase.

Looks like Liu will move from starting lock to the prop rotation to cover Napa, and Radley might share with Collins/Butcher which would make 45 scores a real possibility.

Its definitely possible, I am just not sure how confident I am of it.

Radley was also 19 turning 20 last year, only really making is way into the position and on the up in the club. This year he is 20 turning 21, said to have beefed up this off season, plus after spending the whole off season as first choice 13 he theoretically should see an increase in minutes and role.

I didn’t pick Croft last year based on gut feel. I’m picking Morgs based on gut feel.

    I didn't pick Croft.

I wouldn't make a selection because of "safety in numbers".. it was more of a .. if things go wrong situation..

My point was more that, for me, if it isnt Morgan, then its a 212k player, and it limits flexibility somewhat.

Gutfeel on Morgan is he will be serviceable.

Anyone know how many minutes Gillett got in the trial and how he looked? Made 23 tackles which makes me think he was on the field around 45 mins, anyone watch it?

For me the difficulty is finding a half that you really want that is great value. Thinking SJ can see some upside, so may make the jump to him as halves partner for Brown.... then just need to find the cash for it.

The actual flow on effect for me of not having Morgan is having another 212k player in my playing 17 (any position) but then an extra 200k cash to upgrade a wfb (or anywhere)

What's the go on Ryan James this year? nearly 100k cheaper than fifita and thinking of starting him in my 13 along with ofa/tolman/LAM/surgess.

    cut price? thoughts are appreciated

    Lane Or Matterson
Lane will get more minutes or might even play the full 80 with the Manu Mau injury and he is a 100k cheaper.
But matterson will def play 80 and is a gun whne he does, however he does have terrible injury problems (Head)
    Thoughts.
    Cheers.

Been injured, and currently only "likely" for a round 1 start. Probably a risk.

Yeah myself and I think from memory one other person on this forum were the only ones to know this would happen. I honestly didn’t think it would happen in under a week, but this is a big money game and just as we see teams relentlessly cheating the cap, people using this new rule as a weapon was inevitable. On a side note to that, does anyone know the last time we had a salary cap cheating free year??? I know there was some years they didn’t find them out immediately but found out later on... which still means that was a cheating year. Be interested to know if anyone has the footy smarts to answer.

But when he is fully fit, doesn't he play 80? last year i believe he averaged over 50.

James' gun scores are when he plays big minutes in the middle. He is in doubt for round 1 but apparently he'll be 2fr edge in 2019 & his scores drop when he plays there.
