    @Rhinoceroo

In all honesty I'd wait on this week for Bateman and see if Mahoney continues to play 65 minutes, next week should be the kicker if McIllwrick is named

I'd then look at going Mahoney - Bateman

If I was confident he'd get 60+ minutes a week then I wouldn't trade him because he'd be a top 3 gun. All owners hoped pre-season, against quite a lot of Brennan-related evidence, that this would happen. Round 1 gave us another bit of evidence that it won't. I'd love to observe this for another week, but that costs money.

EDIT see what you mean on the averages for the 50-60 minute games. I'm back to 50/50 now.

Arrow getting over 50 minutes averaged 60 last season. His scores in those games included 30, 38, 38 so 45 is not his floor, he just happened to hit it in game 1, in pouring rain, in a game that was lost when he was due to come back for another 10 minute stint.

Game 1 he got 55 minutes, every chance of a repeat of his last years over 50 minutes, with similar form and no injuries.

Still have 100% bonafide Dutch van der Linde worthy FAITH that he will be a centre gun this year. But the problem is I need him to do it right now, and I am not that confident that he will. The start of the year is too important to get on the right cows and have your team value increasing, and there are too many other options in his position which are going up in value.

Sure he might score a try and find 50+ points this week, making me feel like a goose- but I will still be worried about the 20 around the corner the week after. Players like Nikora, Capewell and Bateman are not going to make these stop-start price rises like him, they are going straight up with meat and potato tackle points. As silly as I would feel watching him beast it over the next few weeks while his replacement scored similarly, I would feel even worse watching him get another string of 20's while all those popular players got away from him in price and overall points. For me it is just too risky NOT to sell him.

tl;dr- we are told not to sell guns, but I fear he might take too long to become one while his shit team figures out how to play

Agreed. That's why I've moved him on. Unless he goes huge, his price rises I wanted are going to take too long. With Capewell, Nikora and Bird in my team, I have enough CTRs that will score consistently and net me cash. That's the focus early on, make dat moolah

he's bitter at the Broncos? deadset, he spent more games in the grandstand than he did on the field, including knee reco's putting a line through the entirety of 3 of his first 4 seasons and the club stuck by him through all that, gtfoh

    Interesting fact:
None of the current top 20 players have CS9 in their team
19 of them had Fifita as captain, the guy ranked 10th had Farah as captain Balls, the guy ranked 21st had Friend as captain

I know this isn't the big calls thread, but Fifita to push his claim for a banner this week, Moylan to score 60+ Laughing I own neither and will drift into the trash filled abyss of fantasy ranks haha

Yes I was looking through their teams yesterday. Very few had Cook, Bateman, Arrow and Taupau typically not there, easy to catch up if things start normalizing. A huge score to Captain Cook and Friend failing will quickly catch many other teams up.

I don't see Moylan getting another 7 TBs this weekend... and I for one will be keeping the C on Fifita

Yea I was doing some scouting, guys like Moylan flying early.

That's why R1 is so annoying literally picking guns to score well in a 1 off game and getting the majority of early cows etc

picking Keighran over Brown, shit like that. All falls into place pretty soon though

Captain choice. so many variables early doors

If it's anything to go by, Farah scored big vs Manly. I'm keeping the C on him Smile Cook probably goes big though

I've got the (c) on Cook. The Dragons without JDB & Frizell could mean gaps for Cook.

I did make mention he scored 57 in round 1 last year (scored 57 last week) and followed it up with a 72... hint hint

That's the other one I'm tossing up. TT's role disappointed me with even Nicholls coming on for a second stint before him. Tatola to Lawrie. Tatola might make 100k slowly and Lawrie might make 200k fast. Not sure it's worth it (and hardly impossible that Tatola could outscore Lawrie this week)

He played big minutes in the trials, and CS. Was odd the role he played, especially with Knight and Nicholls making errors all over the place.

I'm probably going to give him another run.

    How do these look

    Radley - Bateman
    Holland - Burns

Losing Radley I reckon loses some cash making prowess, def think he will make cash! I wish i had looked closer at his scores, 30s and high 20s with 50s and 60s. Def has some Carter in him with big MT counts like last week.

Burns cash making should cancel out Holland still elevating?

Means I have to stick with Garrick/Sivo another week and Burr could also be gone next week and only $52k remaining?

    Thoughts?
