No, I'd probably wait axweek because the cash differential wouldn't be expanding. But he didn't and it is.

As said, I'm 50/50 on the trade. Maybe 60/40 now I've written it down.

But his average playing the minutes he did last week is what 55+ maybe more?

So all based on one R1 score for Bateman and against Arrow? That's the bit I don't get mate

    1 week: 45 avg 638K(+22K), 50 avg 644K(+28K)
    2 week: 45 avg 655K(+39K), 50 avg 670K(+54K)

I can go Holland to Lawrie for some cash and low be
Then thinking Garrick to Bird (cash gain later) or Host (same thing)

    Team would be
    Cook
    fifita Tolman
    Arrow Murray Gillet
    Morgan Keighran
    Nikora Burns
    Edwards CNk Hughes
    Mahoney Garner Capewell Lawire
    Bird/Host Sivo Brown Ravalawa

102K/167K in the bank for hopefully bateman in the coming week.

Thanks ST. The price increases help see what he’s going to cost going forwards if I miss him for a round or 2

Storm renowned for being more taxing to play due to their wrestle. Do we think this effects his score?

    My options are

1: Holland to lawrie to fund kahu to CNK (wither kahu or Ravalawa atm)
2: Holland lawrie, lane to Bateman (losing lane seems a waste)
    3: keep my powder dry

What if in Rapana's comeback game he re-injures himself in the 5th minute meaning J. Bateman plays the rest of the game at ctr. I'm thinking of buying Bateman so looking at all angles. I bet you're all paranoid now lol.

If I was confident he'd get 60+ minutes a week then I wouldn't trade him because he'd be a top 3 gun. All owners hoped pre-season, against quite a lot of Brennan-related evidence, that this would happen. Round 1 gave us another bit of evidence that it won't. I'd love to observe this for another week, but that costs money.

EDIT see what you mean on the averages for the 50-60 minute games. I'm back to 50/50 now.

Can understand the minutes worry mate, but his Average when playing 55 minutes plus is 60.2. Some big minute games in there mind so even dropping 5 points off that he is a 2RF keeper @55 points

He was beasting it without doing fuck all until a poor second stint. Nothing I seen makes me worry moving forward

But I don't want to "sway" you and get blamed haha so go with Bateman Razz Razz Wink

Pookus McFly wrote:Just on Holland, and my thoughts to justify his trading.

Still have 100% bonafide Dutch van der Linde worthy FAITH that he will be a centre gun this year. But the problem is I need him to do it right now, and I am not that confident that he will. The start of the year is too important to get on the right cows and have your team value increasing, and there are too many other options in his position which are going up in value.

Sure he might score a try and find 50+ points this week, making me feel like a goose- but I will still be worried about the 20 around the corner the week after. Players like Nikora, Capewell and Bateman are not going to make these stop-start price rises like him, they are going straight up with meat and potato tackle points. As silly as I would feel watching him beast it over the next few weeks while his replacement scored similarly, I would feel even worse watching him get another string of 20's while all those popular players got away from him in price and overall points. For me it is just too risky NOT to sell him.

tl;dr- we are told not to sell guns, but I fear he might take too long to become one while his shit team figures out how to play

I agree 100%. The first 3-4 rounds I trade aggressively even if it's sideways, an under performing gun or whatever. If a player scores shite because they play badly, look poor or are off the pace then they are goneeeeeeeee & I'll get a player in form.

What if I don't trade Bateman in and Holland fails a 3rd minute HIA

You can't make or not make trades based on potential injury. You can't predict that. Except for Dugan, don't trade him in

I was a MASSIVE Holland advocate, but with Nikora/Capewell in most teams playing a more steady position, and Bird/Burns proving popular and much cheaper (although output not expected to match Holland has been on the block for me, purely because there are cows who can make more money quickly and Holland is giving me the extra cash to use

Yeah, I edited my last post once I understood what you meant.

Also worth noting that Bateman got his score without any offloads or try involvement, both of which he's capable of. And his TBs are often of the slap and wriggle variety which are great for fantasy. Main worries against that are in-game centre moves and a potential long ban next week for thumping Cameron Smith.

I would do that trade. I thought Moylan had a really good game v Knights. He seems tougher now & doesn't hold back. He's very elusive & if there's space he's gone.

All my concerns with the trade were gun for potential gun mate. Find another way to get Bateman in if you want him. Will look at your team and see if i can see anything else.

Yea Bateman is an animal said that all pre season but I've got form not backing them into my team as we know. Was at a difficult price point. Fucking Raiders

Do we have an accurate super league fantasy average for Bateman?

I thought from my research it was 45 last season but could have had the amount of games he played incorrect

    My trades atm are:
    Ofahengaue out - Lawrie in
Holland out - J. Bateman in
    leaves 164k bank.

    Cook (c)
    A. Fifita, Lawrie
    Arrow, Murray, Lane
    Munster, D. Brown
    Bateman, Nikora
    D. Edwards, CNK, Burns

    Mahoney, Sele, Capewell, Garner
    Burr, Keighran, Ravalawa, Sivo

If D. Edwards put in another sub-par performance I'll probably sell him. I mean he was through after he gathered the grubber & he just drops the ball cold lol.

The only important thing here is whether you are continuing to leave him out. I need to know whether I should bring him in, in which case I've no idea how both he and Rapa make it into my team but I don't really have a choice
