It's Holland or Dedwards out for me to bring Bird in. Even though I'm a Holland advocate, I can't see him outscoring Dedwards over the year in that Dogs team.

    Considering no trades.. again.

I am actually considering Capewell to Lawrie, pre-empting Capewells return, but its a big risk. If Capewell nabs a try this week then hes right back on track.

Connor Watson is in doubt for Newcastle Knights and it could have huge ramifications for our man Kalyn Ponga.

    Why?

Well an underpriced starting fullback in a decent team at around 500k (35pts) who can break tackles and has a good fantasy pedigree seems a good buy
Sure his first game of the year wasn't good but the panthers played poor in general on a wet weekend.
Throw in Kikau who he can run off and it will only be a matter of time before he scores well.

WFB scores have mostly been poor to start the year, especially fullbacks.
Most the good scores have been wingers scoring a try or two so unsure how sustainable that will be long term.

Of the Fullbacks = Hughes,Moylan,RTS,CNK,Hoppa,Boyd all scoring low to mid 40's so he isn't exactly massively underperforming if you take away his first game.

He is averaging 2pts less than Tedesco, and has a similar start, but noone wants to write him off.
Tedesco is a genuine keeper but no reason Edwards can't still be a top 5 WFB come season end

So he is on my shortlist

Hold or sell Host (BE of 11) (will be in my scoring 17 unless I play both Keighran + Brown) - 114k ITB

    (1) Sell for Flegler (BE -7) - coming off 54 in 37 mins (41 in base stats) - JS/minutes when Lodge, Haas returns - can he keep Haas out of a spot in 17
    (2) Sell for Lawrie (BE -2) - 50 and 43 in 40 and 55 mins (39 and 49 in base stats) - uses almost all budget being saved for Crichton but looks to be significant upgrade on Host however could accrue high MT count this week v Broncos pack (similar to Host v Broncos left edge)

Hmm interesting discussions.. Flicking Capewell for Bird feels like it's not getting the most out of a trade, but Bird will be scoring well for the season and Capewell will be gone in a few weeks.

Just on Bird, I feel like him and Corey Oates will compliment each other's scoring. If I had the balls (and money) I'd bring in Oates too.

Edwards is looking hungry, but just bring underutilised which is a shame. He's losing cash... Even though I think he's a good, if you're going to make cash elsewhere, I'd do that and get him later if he comes right.

Surgess has cleaned up his game now that he doesn't have to be the enforcement in the middle. His quiet games will be 40s but his big games surely compensate.

Running no hooker... Wouldn't risk it unless I had Cam Smith

I think it's time to jump on Teddy before he nabs an 80. It's going to happen, we all know it.

True. I've got a reasonable bank though so willing to gamble on picking him up at 660k in a week or two Very Happy

Thinking of doing Edwards to Burns and Capewell to Bateman. Are these a bit sideways? I think Edwards will come good but Bateman is a guy who hopefully will stay in my team until the end barring injury.

IMO Capewell should be kept for another week or 2
