Sportsdeck VSDT 2020 Part 1

The Help & Info part of the site suggests eliminator is based on weekly rank, which was my recollection too.

Struggling with trades this week - too much money/choice! Looking to upgrade JTB and Flegler with $600k in the bank means I can pretty much afford anyone (already have Haas, Lolo, McInnes, Matterson, Carrigan). Options include Crichton, Murray, JTurbo, Harris, JFH, McGuire, Klemmer, Saifiti, Papalii, and Fotuaika.

Thinking JFH or McGuire's DPP might be useful to replace Flegler. If Crichton is getting time in the middle, he's hard to ignore. And the other one I like is Fotuaika - unlike Saifiti and Papalii, his scores haven't been boosted by tries. A McGuire/Fotuaika combo will leave me enough cash on hand to bring back DFifita for L.Leilua next week if he's rushed back into the starting lineup.

Any other thoughts how to differentiate?

I considered both Papalii and McGuire this week, but went with Crichton solely because I prefer watching him play haha. Can't fault your thought processes though - Mofo you get what it says on the box, he has been scarily consistent and I wish I had him in my team from the start. I feel like DPP is a good point to differentiate. I don't think you could go wrong with either of JFH or McGuire to be honest

Pretty sure it's weekly rank but a couple of earlier posts here seem to tend otherwise.

My understanding is that the draw for each round is based on the rankings for the previous round (NOT overall rankings). The top 50% are drawn to randomly play the bottom 50%.

For this week, the top 2048 are drawn to randomly play the bottom 50%. However, if there were only 3222 teams in Round 8, then the bottom 2048 would consist of 1174 teams and 874 byes.

So, I assume that 874 of the top 2048 would have a bye this week.

cheers StuDogg, Crichton and Mofo it is. Reading Fifita might not be back until the Storm game, so will just go with the two 'best' picks in my mind...

Hopefully Hopoate can make some more money. Wasn't worth a trade and won't play him ever but could be some unexpected bonus cash

Double whammy of Eaglestars beating me in our H2H (Best making it not as close as it could have been) and also overtaking me on the ladder. GG though, 150 points behind 1st so the race is on

George Williams to Cleary and Hopo to Fermor. Really only missing teddy at this stage.

Tohu may need to go but there's enough value there and Leilua should be upgraded and have funds in horse to do so but happy to differ until forced. Just need

How is eliminator looking for people? I have a tough but winnable matchup, he had a couple of guys like Sivo and Luke Keary who could hurt me if they go big, but overall my team is stronger

I've gone Katoa to Fermor to fund Drinkwater to RTS

Will look at Ponga in coming weeks

Eliminator opponent seems to be a casual with Wighton, JWH, Hymel Hunt featuring plus a bench full of nuffies

Will need a lot of bad luck with try scorers to lose this one

I am seriously considering DBrown because I can't afford Cleary (just) and I need better 4th reserve (played Best over Niu last week). I know Moses is going to come back soon-ish but I feel like the output in the meantime makes it worth it, and I can luxury trade him later if need be.

Another option is Koro to Cook as Milchy alluded to above. Trades would be something like Shiba - Fermor via Fui and Luai - DBrown/Koro - Cook.

Eliminator looks winnable - only 2 common players which is scary and lots of boom/bust players in their team (Sivo, SJ et al) but I think I should be fine.

I've got a tricky elim - an interesting team that could go bang.

I'm taking a punt on Edwards as my 3rd WFB (for Latrell). Might use the other to release some cash (red dot cash out)

Mine's not a straightforward eliminator match-up. Lots of coin flip matchups like Matterson vs JFH, Crichton vs JTurbo, MoFo vs Papalii.

Will be looking at trading Best and/or Drinky out this week. Unfortunately I can't reach any of the gun fullbacks in one trade, so thinking of swinging Mann down to WFB and playing Niu in my centres for a week.

This weeks trades were Drinky to a red dot which gave me enough to upgrade Sua to N.Brown.
Back row is now McInnes, Lolo, Angus, Brown & Katoa. Now just waiting for D.Fifita
