Along those same lines Mulvy I have been looking at Mark Nichols DPP , I currently have Stimson but might go Nicko instead - just a workmen who does his grunt work but might just fill a void.

Yeah that's the conversation I was wanting to have. Who are the guys that could benefit, that we haven't considered because of assumptions about others benefiting instead?
I'm not sure about Nicholls necessarily, but he does have 7 career games over 40 minutes for an avg of 37 in 44 minutes, ten above his price.

This maybe risky but Keary looks value and usually starts the season well. Do you take a chance that Keary hangs around until you can upgrade to lets say Moses before the inevitable concussion issues? This will also depend on how much involvement Flanagan has with the chooks attack but early on you would think Keary will be calling most of the plays. That extra coin goes a long way to improving some of my mediocre backs and reserves.

There is no evidence for any of these but...
Dean Britt > Joe Stimson (his Dad is a Bulldogs legend, seems to have a big engine, high PPM)
Sam Stone > Carty Party (think this is 50/50 to happen, but not much value)

And Keary did kick the piss out of the ball in rd 24 when Cronk was out by the look of it. Now I'm sure Flanagan is probably more of a kicker than Drew Hutchinson, but still, it shows he can step up.

Does Keary stay on the left? Kyle is a right side half? From watching Kyle when he filled in for the Sharks he looked unnatural on the right. Seemed to hate passing it to his outside players.
Generally easier for a right footed player to kick long from the right side. Kyle averaged 192 kick metres last year beside Townsend. Just hard to gauge the way they'll paly to start the season.. is Kyle given plenty of responsibility from the start or do they just let Keary run the whole thing and ease Kyle into the system. Additionally, does Friend kick a little more ?

Same, although I’m keen like others to watch Merrin in the CS.Loomer wrote:

FWIW I prefer passing to the left

Does Flanagan have a problem with his left to right passes? As you say Friend is an option and is no dill with his kicking game. He will be wanting to
get rid of the pill quickly to save his dodgy upper limbs.

haha i dont know but Nikora was way less effective without SJ
Nikoras average was 51 (16 games) with SJ, but 42 in games Flanagan played (7 games).
He had 11 line breaks for the season. Only 1 with Flanagan, but 10 in 16 games with SJ.
I mean, easy to say that SJ is a better player, of course he is, and the players around him are going to benefit from that.

Are you saying Nikora has value then?

Thoughts on SJ vs Cleary for that gun half spot? Cleary has better base for a half but SJ has a better team around him and has more ways of scoring points (way more TAs, LBAs and running stats)

Both have potential upside compared with last season, if SJ was priced without the fan hub tax then I think a lot more would be jumping on.
Cleary discussed at length already.
SJ returned to pre-season early off his own bat, claims to have gotten his body right, was very honest in saying his 2019 was poor. Second year at Sharks now, maybe a little more settled/etc, less pressure, could have a big year.. will need his forwards to step up though.

Moga gets his body right every season too.
Until it's not.

I'm going to watch SJ for a bit. Made of glass really. Maybe someone I'll jump on later in the season if the price is right

To add to the fact you can't unsee L Leilua being off-centre in his picture, J Leilua has only gone and topped him with his picture having a white background after they redid his player face

Hate croft. You 2rf scares me. If Dfifita gets bench time, stimson turns out to be a flop and Williams doesn't get the minutes your entire season is over.
