    A couple of experiments/hunches will be first against the wall .... Olam & To'o with break evens of 96 & 108 respectively are about to lose a wad of cash so they can depart .... to be replaced by players 'on the up'

    The rest will depend on TLT

    I nearly went for To'o too, i still think he'll do alright but i also understand that with that BE he is a must sell, with the shorter season you cant afford to stick with players that arent performing in the hope they turn it around.

    With the McCullough news im off Watson and back onto McInnes. McInnes, Staggs, Drinkwater, Hampton & Katoa come into my team.

    Anyone keeping Fifita in this format. I feel like I have bigger issues but keep changing trades in what limited time I spend looking at SC team

    ATM I have J Leilua, Knight, Watkins, Keary, Stimson out for Staggs, Hampton, Drinkwater, Matterson and E Katoa

    I dont think its worth sacrificing points for 3-4 rounds just to save a trade. We have 37 which is a pretty generous amount so should be able to get Fifita back in once he comes back. It could work if you have good depth, but this early in the season 'good depth' in one position probably means you are weak(ish) in another and thus could use the cash from trading Fifita. All in all keeping him is probably not a terrible move but with the amount of trades we do have, i think the best option is to trade.

    Didn't even consider Fifita as I too had bigger fish to fry. Got some ugly issues. This is who I'm dumping;

    OUT;
    Bailey Simonsson
    Kallum Watkins
    Jack Williams
    Joe Stimson
    Braidon Burns

    IN;
    Jason Taumalolo
    Kotoni Staggs
    Jamayne Taunoa-Brown
    Tyrell Fuimaono
    Thomas Flegler

    I don't like, or even remotely want the bottom two, but I need a 2RF and CTW replacement. Can't afford much, so I've narrowed it down to these two. Wiliame also an option if Tyrell Fuimaono not named on TLT.

    Either way, I tend to think that with my team as it is, Fifita probably a hold for me.

    For the record, I have Katoa and Hampton in my team already.

    Matterson and Staggs are two that I'll be trading in.

    It would be pretty cool to bring Matterson in too, and I could, if I got rid of Fifita. One to ponder, perhaps.

    I'm turfing him. Matterson I think is a better use of the cash. But TLT may change things.

    TLT was pretty kind to me. Kennedy, Walters and Kerr retained their spots while there were no big outs. McInnes definitely comes into my side given Isaac Luke isnt even close to the team and even if he was i would probably still buy McInnes. Hoping the Cowboys absolutely feast on the Titans given I have Lolo (C), Holmes, Drinkwater & Hampton.

    It is hard to see how i can get Cleary into my team in a couple weeks unless i trade Leilua, SJ or Drinkwater which aren't great options. I'd love Cleary to join
    Moses, Johnson and Drinkwater eventually. I'm glad i have 7 playing centres/wings this round which will be good for cash generation. Super stoked to have the footy back!

    Ranked 154 in this one but took a decent hit in the break. My trades:

    OUT: DFifi, Friend, G.Musgrove, Stimson, Wiliame
    IN: Matterson, Brailey, Gueler, JHoppa, Staggs

    Just need to get through this round with Cleary, Aubs, and Ponga on the pine and I feel like I should be ok.

    Looking for a tip here if I can. I think I know the answer, but curious to ask anyway.

    So far my trades are these;

    OUT;
    David Fifita
    Kallum Watkins
    Jack Williams
    Joe Stimson
    Braidon Burns

    IN;
    Jason Taumalolo
    Kotoni Staggs
    Jamayne Taunoa-Brown
    Jamil Hopoate
    J.Isaako or S.Katoa

    I think I know I should get Isaako in for the last trade, but with the Sharks' allegedly "good draw" and his newfound job security, is Katoa a decent shout for quite a lot less money? Is Isaako really going to be worthwhile for the extra cash?

    Lower BE for Katoa too. I think I'm liking the idea of Katoa as I think about it. Foolish?

    Isaako to me is a cut price keeper, so are you after points or cash?

    Yeah, I ended up going with isaako. Everything about that is more sensible. Just trying to make things difficult, I think.

    Not me, but one of the chaps on one of the SC Podcasts I listen to is mad about him. Makes some pretty solid points... but he's not for me personally.

    Just trying to understand this VC captaincy loophole. Do I understand correctly that you can actually change your captain choices mid-round? Surely not?

    For example, if I had the C on Lolo and VC on Haas. If Haas goes massive tonight and I want to keep his score as my Captain's score, surely I cannot then just put the C on Cleary tomorrow morning and get Haas' VC score as my Captain's score for the week? Surely not?

    Trades;

    Arrow, musgrove, watkins, fifita and luai out
    Katoa, Matterson, yeo, drinkwater and staggs in

    Gives me
    Koro, Bbrailey
    Hass (V) Carrigan
    Lolo (C), Matterson, Knight, Leilua, Yeo
    Moses
    Drinkwater, Williams
    Staggs, Marsters, Isaako, Mann
    Pap

    Ponga to join the 17 next week for williams. Only 6k to play with but I think i've got the main cash generators (yeo included)

    That's exactly it.

    But then you get an ae for cleary, which means you're hoping your spuds don't spud up too bad.

    But I'd VC someone like staggs who could go really really big, I think Hass is more likely to get you comparable to Lolo's scores which will do your head in. If staggs tanks, then you won't be too aggrieved and lolo will take care of you

    That spud is Moses. Wink

    So this loophole is a genuine part of the strategy of SC then? It's not frowned upon or anything? Seems incredibly easy to eliminate if they wanted to.
