Interesting thing for me re Young (trading out Drinkwater).. I'd probably pull the pin on him after 3 weeks anyway as I want/need to get Tedesco in and he would likely be one of the two to make way.

So if I look at it that way, are there better ways to make quick cash in the next 3 games? Actually hard to say. Herbie could make 140-150k if he jags a 50+ somewhere

Roosters have a run of Warriors, Titans and Dragons coming up. Should I just get Teddy in now?

I can do it but the only problem I have is running with Luai and JTB for a few more weeks as well as my only HLF back-up being Clune, yuck.

However my outside backs are set for the year and that run of games for the Roosters just looks too tempting albeit still 3 weeks away and a world of trouble between now and then.

To get the cash for Rudolph to SJ would you?

Leilua to Young (Will be in 17)

    or

Clune to Niu (Won't be in 17)

That's what's now made me just get him now and be done with it.  Means my 17th man is Luai or Crichton, but I don't think that would be uncommon.

Me having CM9, Tolo, Haas and Ted is just too hard to ignore and where I'm ranked, any slipups will see me drop and I don't want to take the chance of that happening. Have to settle for DCE over Cleary though.

Bateman won't be back for a while. Still listed as indefinite. Don't even think he's back training with the first team. Young should be good for 6 weeks at least

If Val is back looks like HTF drops out

Could Bateman be back before Young gains enough cash

I reckon it's a bit of a smoke screen. Bateman will have "niggling" injuries all year and barely play. It's pretty clear he doesn't want to be there

I could use a red dot if this is the case.

Actually, his red dot would be useless to me this week. Would only be able to look at Lomax which seems invalid.

Just curious with the theory behind setting up outside backs for the year first?

I haven't got TED yet (and have serious fomo) but have Ponga and would prioritise a gun half and/or one of the established gun hookers before worrying about completing the Ponga/Ted backline.
Similar priced players to Ted are Cook, Smith, Cleary, Lolo.

Seems to me like investing a lot of cash in a boom bust scenario and leaving gaps in areas where you can have a more consistent good scorers.

In saying that I have always tried to balance the team and have finished alright but never won shit so maybe there's something in it.

    Extra trades gripe #3002

My only advantage over most other teams was already having both Teddy and Ponga. I haven’t even got to have them both on the park in the same round before that has just become standard for most teams.

INB4: Young is hitting 72 this weekend against the Dragons. He will make a nice 163K before selling.

This is what I guess would of happened regardless. Except I thought ONeill to move inside and Opacic out

O'Neill adds nothing. I have always liked Opacic, even at Broncos.

Boys stalwart, unlikely he gets dropped regardless. HTF will be shunted before ONeill

Green has said throughout the week he has no reason to drop Opacic, seems to like him. And he literally said at captains run media HTF is the likely one to make way for Val so idk I guess it just depends how Val pulls up https://www.cowboys.com.au/news/2020/07/02/green-well-see-how-he-pulls-up-tomorrow2/
