I'm interested in Paulo but that minutes chat is an curious one. Arthur said he wouldn't need Paulo to play 80 'but if we needed him to, i'm sure he could'. That could be said about a lot of forwards who play 60 ish mins on the regular. He subbed off before Brown in the trial (meaningless?)..
They're going to run a back up hooker this year which does remove one forward from the bench but do we see a situation where both Paulo and Brown play 65+ mins as a normal thing? RCG there as well.
Bench is fairly weak though Papalii has looked solid in trials
Arthur is also very keen on Cartright which may be good for the big min middles if Carty comes on as an edge, but Lane could easily slot into the middle rotation

I kind of said a lot without saying anything. He seems like an exciting pick but there is probably more obvious 'value' in other players I guess.
Maybe Parra should change the way they attack to use him more. All of their attack seems to be big shifts left or right.

I’ve got him currently in my team for a quick play. But there are reports he bulked up to play lock so I don’t know if he can last the full 80mins even last year he never played the full 80 but was close to it when named at hooker. The avg in those games are very good. Didn’t grant have a similar knee injury last year that he took longer to from over from than anticipated?

was from an interview in january.

"Adjusting to being in the 13 role as well ... my body, I can't be a skinny 13 and not protect myself. I've got to put on weight to play 13. That's the sort of things that hinders my ability to be a nine.
"I got down to 93 [kilos] playing 13 a couple of seasons ago and it wasn't great. I felt fast but I felt like I was getting thrown around a bit more than usual. I usually play around 97-98 kilos.
"But if I was to be a nine for instance I'd be about 92 kilos. That's a big difference in weight, I'm playing nine against Parramatta at [98 kilos], which is not ideal but you make do."

Paulo found his way into my team after that article
Last year Arthur seemed to try to force a big minute middle. Tried it with RCG for a few weeks (rounds 7-12 he played 78, 57, 64, 80, 67, 73) but seemed to hurt his effectiveness with more missed tackles and less metres per run. Then it was Nathan Brown, playing 65, 70, 69, 75, 60, 73, 80, 75 from rounds 13 until end of season. I thought Brown was pretty good in that role, but Arthur clearly didn't like what he saw. Now it seems like Paulo will get a shot to stamp down that role
Price is alright that if it goes wrong he should hold price while you pivot to someone like Twal, JFH, Taupau, AFB, Arrow, Elliot, Tino after seeing their role for who is on the up swing

I guess the hallmark of Brown's game is those runs 'off the back fence' and maybe he will reduce his mins to increase his impact? That's a guess though, haven't seen anything to suggest Brown would play less mins this year.
Just need to see Brown talk about going for 'quality over quantity' this season

Can someone PLEASE talk me out of MC9. I think I need to sacrifice a 700k+ player to solidify my MID but can't bring myself to do it.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2021 Part 7 - Trial edition
I have a rule not to pick players based on a pre-season article where their coach talks them up.
So not interested in Paulo. Maybe he will go on to bigger things this year, but I want something more susbstantial to base it on than a coach talking up his own player.
Brooks 'taking control of the team' is like other players training the house down, so that can be safely ignored, but there are other reasons why you might consider him.

if you want some negatives
- long history of scoring slightly below gun scores.
- one dimensional player who can make 55 tackles in a game but score 47
- getting older, but not getting better, returning from a serious injury.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2021 Part 7 - Trial edition
Current draft that I'll likely take into TLT with the expectation of blowing it up...
Brailey (J)
Watson, Tino, Alvaro
Fifita, Riki
Cleary, Lam
Bird, Roberts
Tedesco, Pappy, Hopoate
Crichton (A), Turpin, Davey, Liddle
Utoikamanu, Averillo, Niu, 246k* WFB
20k ITB. Think it has good covered except only 3 HLF's. Couple there that will move around with TLT, but like the look of the guns. Pretty much dropped Cook/Api and Munster for Pappy with him getting the goal kicking.
You guys see any obvious issues there?

If I had to guess I'd say Parra might try a hot-hand/rotational approach where one of his mids gets big minutes but you don't know who it'll be week-to-week. Maybe 50% it's Brown, 40% Paulo and 10% RCG just to throw a spanner in the works. I'm definitely avoiding unless more info somehow becomes available.

I'm quite high on Macca's prospects, but have indeed on current draft cut him to strengthen MID.

I'd rather have AFB then Paulo to be honest. AFB played like 60 straight minutes in the trial and looked really good.

He's going to average 62.17 over the season.
But hooker is stacked with guns (Cook, Koro) and cows of all prices (Turps, Hodgson, Liddle, Watson, JBrailey, Croker, Egan R2, B Smith maybe, and so on) so it could still make sense to look at other positions.

Unsure of the BS9 love. It's a cash grab with playable scores right? The most optimistic prediction of say 60s for four weeks and then revert to 45s off interchange he only makes 100k, not bad but given he averaged 55 at hooker and 38 off the interchange last year, that would see him make 65k and a wasted trade. Am I wrong?

Speaking of Suaalii, I’ve got him in my Supercoach side at 7th centre, but I can’t find him in Fantasy. I thought I read a headline that he was now exempt so could play. I was so angry the Roosters got their way again I didn’t bother to read it. I can’t find it now that I realise his significance in Fantasy.

Yeah I think it's too short term for me to consider.
