I was so angry the Roosters got their way again I didn’t bother to read it. I can’t find it now that  I realise his significance in Fantasy.

I don't think he's officially cleared yet, but it'll likely happen.

No Dean Ieremia in the game yet is of more interest IMO. If he's named R1, I'll take a 228k winger for a leading team.

As a Tigers fan I really wanted to go Brooks, surely this is the year he finally becomes as good as his first game! I then realised that significantly cheaper are CHT and Lam, even Drink (DPP at FB). With doubts about his long term GK (we won’t know until Rd 2) is he better value than CHT? Rd 1 they actually play against each other too!

Hed be a risk with Lee to come back in. Might hold the spot with good performances but might be out a week later.

If BLee gets named and he beats Reimiss Smith on merit would be best case scenario. But if Lee is still out then its a risky pick

NRL poised for huge call on Suaalii

    By Dean Ritchie

    Start preparing yourself, Joseph.

The ARL Commission is poised to approve an exemption allowing rising sensation Joseph Suaalii to make his NRL debut this season as a 17-year-old.

The Daily Telegraph has been told the Sydney Roosters’ submission to the NRL asking that Suaalii be permitted to play NRL before he turns 18 was “compelling” and a decision could be reached before round one.

The same article also says Suaalii is only attending school 2 days a week, in the off days from training and attends all training sessions for the Roosters

Mulvy wrote:Unsure of the BS9 love. It's a cash grab with playable scores right? The most optimistic prediction of say 60s for four weeks and then revert to 45s off interchange he only makes 100k, not bad but given he averaged 55 at hooker and 38 off the interchange last year, that would see him make 65k and a wasted trade. Am I wrong?

6 weeks of BS9 is good, 3 weeks of BS9 is bad. NRL Physio says Grant's injury is 6-8 weeks, with only one player (Sam Burgess 2012) coming back in Grant's 5 week timeframe in the last decade.

I suppose it's a similar decision we're facing with Lodge and Hoy, just at higher stakes.

Pookus McFly wrote:Anybody think that Matterson playing on the left really affects his scores significantly? He always defended fairly close to the middle anyway and he still running off Moses in attack.

I am of the understanding that when Cartwright is back that he will play on the right edge, with Lane going to the bench, playing a mixture of MID/EDG. Matterson on the same side as Sivo, Opacic may result in some more tries, try assists. I cannot see it changing the rest of Matterson's output too much.

Yeah I was thinking if he beats Smith to the wing role with Lee playing.

Matterson isnt affected at all really but everyone likes Crichtons and D. Fifita for a value pick. But honestly I dont think there is much difference between Crichton and Matterson, in fact in many ways they are basically the same, with stats being so incrediblt similar between the two guys.

Matterson has some positives in he is slightly cheaper, plays on the side with their primary playmaker, less likely to be moved during games, less likely to be rested whole games or partial, plays Round 13, less likely to play origin (Fitler doesnt like him). While Crichton plays for the better side.

Better side? Where did the Eels finish compared to the Roosters last season?

He averaged 54 last season in games he played 50 minutes in it was a small sample size and included a few tries but he has shown he can get across the line.

Meanwhile Holbrook isnt opposed to giving his lock big minutes. Arrow averaged 66 minutes, while Peachey had 63 minutes, and Fotuaika played 64 minutes in his one game there. In 5 games he scored no tries in and played 50+ minutes his PPM was .75, so in 65 minutes he should have a base score of about 49 points. In all his games over 50 minutes he had a ppm of .88 so realistically his ceiling longterm is around 57 points.

There are some other funky things like his first game have 0 TBs and a massive 6 Missed Tackles (3x his average), but even his 38 points in Origin Game 1 was in 50 minutes and a PPM of .75. Add to all that this is his first preseason going in as the starting Lock, in a team with Top 8 and even Top 4 aspirations, and has a ton of experience sincd Origin camp.

TL;DR: Tino's floor in  60 minutes is still 45 points which he is still priced below and the best case scenario of 65  minutes and his higher ppm is 57 points.

Wide margin but many reasons he improves into a breakout year, and Holbrook has had massive wraps on him after the Warriors trial having him and Brimson as stand outs for the team.

    I like this analysis ^^^
