Lam looked good, Crichton outside him on the left should get assists in attack and protection in defence. Halves partnered with Keary usually do well. Definitely some value with CHT, but yeah it's those low scores that concern me. In games over 70 min he has scores of 20, 28, 22, 25, 23, and 15, and a lot of those including some GK. Games at HB last year avg improves to 44, still has that 25 in there where Kodi kicked over 300m. Kid is a talent though and will improve so could very well gun it. But for 2021, I going to guess 43-45 which makes him just passable as a pick but I think better value/potential elsewhere.

Oh he was running next to Crichton was he, well that sweetens the deal back. It's just Lam has a very small sample size of games in the halves and Keary could really dominate the playmaking so I was starting to wonder about him.

Keary is 29 years old and although shown purple patches of dominance has never really dominated the playmaking. He will have 4-5 games in a row where he is in everything but for the other 20 he is pretty average. As someone mentioned early, Lam looks likely to step into the role/scores similar to Flanno last year.

Feels like another "Brooks is due to step up this year"

Doesn't matter who dominates the play making, you want the half that dominates the kicking. Thurston/Cronk were never a good fantasy option despite being a dominate play maker because they were primarily responsible for attacking kicks rather than clearing kicks. It's why I've loaded up with Cleary, Moses, Munster, Lam and might end up with Brooks/CHT

Having a look at my team today post trials but pre TLT

Tried my usual set up but there is a distinct lack of a mid range WFB about to step it up this year (Papy, CNK etc) could it be Latrell? Twisted Evil

South are going to score some points against teams with shit defence and then they are going to have some ordinary games against teams who can execute a defensive plan. They have Storm and Rosters in the first 3 but then they also have Broncs, Dogs, Eagles & Tigers in the first six.

Have had him before so I know it's a rollercoaster and I don't care that he is 'prosperous' in the girth or that some people have an irrational hatred of him and his playing style.

    Dissuade me.

Technically both Thurston & Cronk were in the top 3 halves in 2014 (ahead of DCE), so were good fantasy options that year, but you're absolutely correct in principle.
It's a lot safer to work off a consistent base (like Kicking Stats) than on hoped for improved Attacking stats.

Just remembered the start of the 2019 season and not having Bird, playing at center. Came out playing slapsies and scored 48, then 56, with no tries. Add in the chance that he could end up as starting lock through the season and it is a real risk not having him at his price point.

Averaged 44 at center before getting injured, definitely underpriced gun potential.

    Turpin
    A. Crichton, Tino, Watson
    D. Fifita, Riki
    Cleary (c), CHT
    Averillo, Opacic
    Tedesco, Pappy, Hoy

    J. Brailey, Liddle, Davey, Lam
    Utoikamanu, Curran, Niu, Laurie

I'm actually quite fond of this make up, have something really similar myself at the moment. Looked into Pappy today, and I like the idea of a Teddy + Pappy start at the expense of a pricey hooker. Turpin's numbers are a bit messy but could be the play with no bench hooker for the Broncs.

Badel is full of garbage, recently he made up tripe too that Latrell was seriously thinking of signing with Brisbane, that was not the case.

people are just wary of him for the same reason thyey are wary of Moylan, Tbro and Liddle. He just has an injury history that makes it hard to trust (plus whilst it seems now that he will start at centre, until recently it looked like he might get a bench role to start the season)

If I was confident of his fitness, I'd have him, but for now he is a solid maybe.

Roberts+ Bird would be a nice CTR pairing, if potentially risky for their continued presence in first grade

And I'm targeting 4 cans a game (only did 6 in the trials because it was summer).

Yeah, I was just thinking it was a disappointment that he wasnt playing in the middle. Was really surprised when checking his scoring at CTR, as it puts him up there with Lomax for scoring, at $250k less.

Would also be a candidate for the edge Kerr was playing on in the trial.

Looking at starting with both Bird and Ramsey. If the team gets off to a bad start, as expected they could both get massive positional upgrades, when positional changes need to be made.

I think Latrell will lift even in the bigger games. I am pretty confident Souths make the top 4.

Who are you leaving out if you start him though, Teddy or Pap?
