“A lot of people were quick to judge Ben on form but the guy had spent a whole summer at five-eighth as well as moved from another club and carried a rib and ankle injury for most of the season, which not everyone knew about,” Ennis said.

“He’s had a smooth summer injury-wise and spent the whole time back at fullback which is the position he enjoys and excels in."

That's all great stuff if you're keen on having Barba at fb, but he is only available to pick as HLF. Where he'd have to take a spot in my team off either Hastings, or Taylor. I see them making more than Barba, so he just doesn't fit in, even if starting fb for sharks.

. I suppose you could trade him in (at fb) after 3 weeks, once he Gets DPP status where he might still be good value and will have firmed his spot up if he's ever going to.

Fills me with more confidence picking Tauks rather than Aubusson
Both with a chance of getting benched, Maubbs with more of a chance getting shuffled into the centres or to spell Friend.

Lone Scout said if a player is named in a position come the first TLT that their position will be updated. (I.e. Barba named at FB, he will become HLF/WFB DPP before lock out Thursday night.)

Tapine is going to be much further from first grade at the Raider than the knights too.

Must have been offered a tonne of cash (or just really doesn't like management there)

It's mental, I hope he gets a spot but I really doubt it's going to good for his playing career. Man, really wish we kept him.

The charity shield sides named, are they basically locked in? ie souths arent going to bring in some actual forwards at the last minute, are they?

the props named are clark (wtf?) and a 19 year old. on the bench the only forwards they have are one other prop (some other unknown kid) and another young kid listed as a lock.

Shame for the Knights, he was probably offered more money at the Raiders. Can't see him getting a starting spot down there unless Soloiola is moved on (if he's off contract that is). Or even the Fense. Somebody must be going for them to have available cash

Was wondering this as well, you inspired me the other day to look at throwing a decent wad of cash on the Dragons.

By all accounts we wanted to keep him and be was part of our plans for the future but he took the extra money and ran with it. Can't see him playing first grade this year now.

I think you've named the main contenders but Jonathan Wright, Blake Ayshford and Ken Maumalo might feature too.

I see Ben Henry will start in the second row in Saturday's trial.
