Why are people losing their minds over trial picks. Have we learnt nothing?

Not sure anyone is really going overboard with the angst mate; for the most part trials can be ignored, but there are always some interesting things happening and I try to watch as many trials as possible personally. Chee Kam starting in the centres is interesting for example.

Yep, has been bandied around a fair bit. Are you saying you actually saw a video of the Tigers doing a Fantasy wrap?
Here you go http://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2016/02/03/_2016_nrl_fantasy_wh.html
They provide some written summaries of what they say in the video down below but from the 1:10 mark of the video they talk about the potential benefits of Grant and Sue's increased involvement/minutes and talk up cheapies like Rankin after that.
Cheers for that; volume dead on my home lappy so will try to watch it at work tomorrow.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 5
Just woke up to find out we signed Tapine, great news for us. Feel for you knights fans though, current system sucks and after being bitten by it a few times ourselves I'm just happy we have decided to join them. NRL really should sort their shit out though, losing juniors is bullshit.
Apparently he might be released early, if so I could definitely see him getting a run on the bench. The backrow is already stacked but I wouldn't be suprised if Ricky shuffled a few players around during the game (Feno, Sia and Papa could all spend some time in the middle or edges). I think this would work for the Raiders but fantasy wise would suck a little. Still think Vaughan is a good choice but it makes me a little more nervous on Whitehead and I definitely don't think I'll be picking up Papa or Feno (Although Fensom has proved his minutes don't necessarily dictate his scores when given less minutes last year)

Don't see the need for him unless they are trying to offload FPN or some others, future yes but not if he is only getting 20/30 mins a game, can you loan players in the NRL?

Don't forget we currently have both Lima and FPN looking as our likely props (With Boyd and Vaughan). Some people suggesting he might be a 4th mobile prop and tbh if it means ousting 1 of those 2 I'd be happy with it. He might only get 30mins but then you are getting 30mins from Tapine instead of FPN or Lima. Alternatively if it means Sia spends time at prop instead once Whitehead is good to start, Tapine could play the role Kennedy did (and I think I'd rather have him than Kennedy).

He looks the good mate and could be a Soliola replacement in a year, just looks read now so i hope they find game time for him and it doesn't effect Whitehead haha!!

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 5
The figure being thrown about (which I suspect is a fair way off, but who knows) would lead you to believe he is pretty highly valued and would definitely be getting some time. Would also find it odd of Ricky to sign an international back rower in Whitehead and then not use him to his fullest. Soli's contract finishes up after this year and whilst I'd be more than happy to extend it but perhaps he doesn't want to (If so I hope we keep him on staff). It's all a bit of a mystery but I guess its never a bad thing to have heaps of talent around.Welshy wrote:

PS: I'm hoping it doesn't change Whiteheads role/minutes either, don't want to shuffle him out of my team

Shame looked more likely for decent minutes at the knights to aid his development, i suppose having too many good players isn't such a bad thing, Raiders might have promised him decent game time, might not all be about the money, we shouldn't be too quick to jump on why he left

It's like 4th hand info but a Raiders fan who lives in knights territory was saying the radio there was reporting him as being pretty unhappy with the way Knights were treating him. There was also an article about looking after his family though, which translates to wanting more cash. It's a shame the NRL still doesn't properly support clubs in their development, but it is what it is i guess.
Edit: missed a word

So if Tapine is released early or dumped from first grade for the year, who benefits the most at Knights?

I wonder how Fensom feels knowing that Tapine has just been signed for the same amount of money as him. Poor old Fensom deserves the bigtime!

Fensom has always been a regular in my fantasy sides, but I reckon his game has dropped off a little bit the last two seasons. The bonehead penalties he can give away in the ruck can't help his cause either. Hopefully he has a big year and turns it around

If he goes back to 80 he could well become the Gun backrower again I reckon.

Fensom has always been merely a tacklebot, but last season I thought I was beginning to see some semblances of good attacking play creep into his game. I think if he continues to develop this he will finally be playing rep footy

Exactly. I was pondering over this when selecting for the Ultimate draft. Took a gamble of sorts and went with Mannering. Here is hoping he continues to play 80 mins at lock and scores more tries this year.SI wrote:
