He was absolutely outstanding on our left edge last week and looked like a natural 6. At times I had to remind myself Munster wasn’t playing.

He has a very low BE, is on 246K, did a fair chunk of kicking and running last week. Plus next week with the like of Munster, Grant, Finucane, Kaufusi and Pappy out he will either find himself on the edge or at half again and then hope for a resting in the team or a couple more cash rises off the bench before selling for hopefully a 130K+ cash grab (40 avg over the next 3).

I have 20 trades and thought why not take a gamble? Hope for a 40avg over the next 3 against Broncos tonight, Fifita, Tino and Mofo-less Titans team and then hopefully a decent role off the bench against NZ

    Thought?

Trades (Walker + Pappy > TPJ + Lewis + 500K for a Simpkin trade next week and to grab the likes of Fifita and Pappy after Origin.

EDIT: Gives me 13 (not including Simpkin) for R13 and 14 if I trade Simpkin next week... probably bank the other 3 as I have no other trade outs

An interesting risk! You've got a really small window, but if Munster's foot isn't right for a while it could be worth the trade. But that's the risk you're betting on....

I want to bring Ramsey in also, but he has one of the weaker chins floating around the NRL.

In all seriousness, the possibility of Dufty coming back is also annoying.

C.Lewis also looks interesting. Saw him kick a few times last week, so was worried about losing those points to Hughes being back this week. But turns out it was only 6 points. Surely some cash to be made there over the next couple weeks?

Sounds good for Starling I guess?
Yep. Sounds like he has been advised Starling is the future for the club and will be getting the opportunity to start.

A good rule of thumb this year seems to be that generally where there is smoke there is fire. I am making trades early based on these kinds of reports. Expecting Ramsey to be a similar situation

It bugs me that a good chunk of the players in my team are still shown in their jerseys from the team that they played for last year.

Verrills is going to come in pretty handy when he returns. Basically a cash out that will be starting hooker for the rest of the year and a decent 18th/19th man.

I am have been holding Cini (I know!!!) for that exact reason.....the sooner Verrills comes back the better

I'm pretty sure that quote was from one of the articles a few weeks back. That said I suggested we might transition towards Starling this Season before a ball was kicked and if a Dumb dumb like me can see that I'm fairly sure Hodgo was already likely aware so I doubt its some new development. He likely went into the season with the expectation he might move into a different role as we progressed through the season. Its just that we've looked like shit this year and he's had injuries so the media get a hold of it to make it seem juicier than it is.
I guess what I'm saying that's relevant to fantasy is that I think its probably something we'd planned from the season outset, which should be good for Starling, but like any kind of transition don't be surprised if it changes for a few weeks. Would be like a young half coming through who might get a few weeks back on the bench or in ressies or something if the coach thinks its good for his development.

Do we think A. Kelly is locked into starting after Gamble serves his 1 game suspension this week. You will have Kelly, Milford & Gamble all fighting to start in round 13. Cheers.

I think so for round 13. But there's a couple of variables. Milford, seems completely on the outer, but keeps finding his way back in one way or another. What if he does actually have a good game this week?

Also read an article where Walters was saying he plans to transition Staggs into the halves later in the year. So who knows when he is back and when "later" means.

    Hypothetical for the day.

If a player gets a 1 game suspension this weekend, do they miss the next game they are selected for, or the next game chronologically? Origin selections will be announced Sunday/Monday, while Rd 13 teams are Tuesday (and the suspension isn't necessarily confirmed until Tuesday night).

leaning towards bringing him (Hynes) in.  Admittedly that's with a few more trades than most around here.  Unlike Walsh (who might be a season long keeper - even if not gun), Hynes is likely to be a trade out when he reverts to a bench role.

Reassuring that when Papy came back the other week, it was Ryley Jacks that made way with Hynes moving to 6.  Interested to know the goalkicking pecking order at the Storm.  Does Hynes keep it while Papy/Munster (and Smoothy!) remain out?  Or is Hughes/Jacks/someone else in the team/fringes likely to take over?

Who are you trading out to bring him in mate?

If Papy doesn't get named in origin but does next week for Storm will be interesting to see what non owners do. Huge break even almost guaranteed to lose cash but probably a genuine captaincy option if playing

It’s only lost money if you trade him out. If he comes back and scores some 50s and loses 100k I really won’t mind at all.

Also a big help to those that hold if he’s suits up for the Storm next week

If he isn't supposed to start light work until next week I can't see him playing. He played 65 minutes in R6 and then 13 minutes in R10.... That is 78 minutes in nearly 2 months.
