If you know you're going to run out of trades then you should probably hold off on making trades on green dots that are 10 point upgrades on averages if that.

Hynes could be benched soon and get 15 points a week so he could be a very overpriced EMG if you don't have trades to upgrade him.

You have pretty much zero depth in the MID's and EDG's and you're considering trading out one of those EDG's.

If you want my assessment, there's a sinking boat and you're poking holes in the life raft.

Cricket talk at 4pm TLT is highly controversial but here goes...

I know people like to shit on T20, but it's a different and intricate game to the other forms now with some very specialised tactics. You can't drift like in tests and every ball counts. Matchups and specialist roles are critical.

They almost need a specialist Aus team (players, coaches, selectors) that plays together regularly in the format, and is otherwise playing in T20 leagues around the world. Would be very few Test/ODI players that make this side ever. Which is pretty much what the WI team does now, for economic reasons.

For example, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood being in the Aus T20 is nonsense. Dan Christian getting a swansong now when he's over the hill but basically being ignored for the last 7 years when he was one of the best late innings hitters and 5th/6th bowlers in the world is nonsense. Shaun Marsh getting approx. 741289217 Test recalls but being pretty much ignored in T20 is nonsense.

Haven't read beyond this yet but just want to say how good it is to hear someone say this. As someone who is running a company focusing more on t20 cricket analytics now hopefully more people are open to a new way of thinking about cricket!

Also loved the review of the nrl physio pod and Pytm's comments. Fuck this place is gold.

Currently have gone SWalker and Watson to Dfifita and Haas. Leaves me with 5 trades and 204k left to bring in Ponga next week. Have positional cover in every position with Savage and Peachey/CGraham as the cover in the backs.

Interested to see what the popular captain choices are this week. Most likely going Dfifita as other alternatives are either backing up from Origin or iPap who I'm worried may not get 80 due to Lane on the bench.

Sele has a very minor hammy strain Chaps from Rabbitohs Radio said. He could have played but they’re taking precaution.

If not back next week would be week after. If it was a finals game he’d have played.

Teeth Eater wrote:I actually couldn't be less sure about what to do this week. If all my green dots stay green all is sweet and I can just wait until next week to make heavy decisions.

But Munster, Teddy and Turbo concern me greatly this week. I can cover Munster with Schuster/Brooks, but if both Teddy and Turbo are out I need two WFBs. And I also have Bird (with Averillo) and no CTR cover, so I should factor that into this week's decision, and I am thinking of going for someone like a Dom Young to get that CTR/WFB coverage in place of Suaalii.

Alternatively, I could use a big chunk of my bank and go for Gagai, but playing in the last game I'd have to be 100% certain he's starting this week, and I am not sure it's a wise way to spend money when I have aspirations to bring Cleary and Tohu back in my team at some point. Also, if I need two WFBs this week I could do Suaalii/A.Kelly to Ponga/Dom Young... if Ponga plays. I don't mind spending funds in that manner. If he plays.

Truly don't know. I do need to wait and see what happens with Origin and then hope we get clear info in the aftermath about who backs up or not.

If all my green dots played this week, I'd actually look to punt Brooks for DCE/Ponga/Lolo/Koro... but the uncertainty makes it hard to think of something sexy like that.

Anyway, that's just the contents of what's behind my face. Sorry for the outpouring. As you were...

    (team is;)

    Brailey
    Ipap / Haas / Chrichton
    Fifita / Schuster
    Munster / Johnson
    Averillo / Bird
    Turbo / Teddy / Walsh

    Macca / Watson / Brooks / Tolman
    Matto / Verrills / A.Kelly / Suaalii

Still got 11... this is my H2H team (the only one I care about, lol), so trying to keep a few if I should make the finals. Still a pretty hefty IF at this point in time.

Is SCrichton and Matto to Fifita and IPap silly to consider? Would leave me without CTR cover obviously but it’s a rubbish position anyway

    I don't think so.

Even if you have to play 16 for a week due to no ctr cover, the trade ins probably score way more points in the long run.

Mind you, as a Crichton owner, it would be nice if he pulled out some 60's in the coming weeks.

Thanks for your opinion. Most weeks it feels like playing with 16 anyway cos I have Olam as well lol. The main problem is that it only leaves me 2 trades which if I get lucky and don’t have injuries would be to cash out Hynes and upgrade one of my halves to Cleary

In that case I'd probably just hold the second trade for now hah

Curran & Simo to iPap and To'o for me this week I think

Leaves me with 3 trades Shocked

With SST out I'm going to have an ugly team if either one or both of Moses and Teddy don't back up (Verrills and Roberts would be in...)

Weiland wrote:Actually, I might throw my team out there and see if anyone can suggest anything I need doing this week.

    10 trades, 127k ITB

    Brailey
    Watson, Haas, Crichton
    Fifita, Ipap
    SJ, Fogarty
    Bird, Averillo
    Hynes, Teddy, TTurbo

    Egan, Walsh, CHN, Walker
    Cleary, Tohu, Roberts, Verrills

Walker is not ideal in the 17 but is only temporary until Tohu is back, Any suggested trades you guys can see that could be done?

Your team looks pretty close to a great final 17, but IMO there's no point holding back trades when you have plenty and you can improve your team now.
e.g. a 20 point improvement now is worth 160 points across 8 weeks (or equivalent to a 50 point improvement for Round 23-25)

With 10 trades you have enough to trade Cleary AND get him back.
I'd suggest Cleary -> DCE (assuming he suits up this week - you will know before the Panthers game)
AND Walker -> Cook/Mahoney/Frizzell/Hughes (basically a keeper of your choice)

You essentially get a 25 point improvement in average by running DCE instead of Walker.
And assuming Tohu doesn't make the cut and one of Turbo/Teddy is out (which seems fairly likely), you get your gun trade-in instead of Roberts/Verrills - probably another 20/30 point improvement.

It means your team is immediately better, 50+ points each week can make a fair shift in ranking, and you can always trade Cleary back in later (for a flagging gun etc)
