I've been pretty lucky. I first noticed it when I was 18, was devastated. 20 odd years later it's been a very slow progression.jstands wrote:My hair started thinning and receding when I was 20, greys sprouting at about 23..

Who would be your pick out of Mike Cooper or Tyson Frizzell. Joel Thompson should play 80min who would potentially be the other guy or who has more work rate / attacking stats in them?

Frizell has more attacking stats in him I would think. Cooper more likely to put out consistently soild scores though?Finger Puppet Mafia wrote:Who would be your pick out of Mike Cooper or Tyson Frizzell. Yep, that was tragic, we had that game in the bag.
The year before wasn't any better either when the Black Pearl was taken out early by Lamb.
We were a good chance of winning that one too if it wasn't for that.
Someone put a curse on us back then!!

Here in NZ, Sky have added a pop-up channel to add to the season build up. Today's offering was the 1990 Grand Final. Looks like they are going to go through them in order over the next couple of weeks.

Mannering named at 11? Shit. He was my second pick in the draft. Need him to play 80 mins at lock...

I know this is only a trial but I am getting a bit concerned.
Some NRL coaches have not been reading this thread and are picking players out of the positions that we want.

He's not going to be a 80 minute player anymore, those days are passed. I think with him giving up the captaincy as well there's even more indication that his role will be reduced. He'll still score well over that time and will certainly see his tries improve this year.

The way rotations work these days, playing at 11 or 12 you are more likely to get 80 minutes than at 13.

What's the deal with Yeo getting 13 with Cartwright on the bench for the Panthers?

Wouldnt worry too much it will fix itself come round 1. Different for Mannering as he is no longer the Captain and has played on the edges before.GoingNuts wrote:What's the deal with Yeo getting 13 with Cartwright on the bench for the Panters?

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 6
Hmmmm Mannering in the 2nd row doesn't surprise me much really. I wondered who Ben Henry would be coming off the bench for if he does at all and it could only be Mannering. At Lock he's invaluable Fantasy wise as he makes his 40-50 tackles a week and makes his metres reliably but he doesn't make much of an impact in attack and as a team the Warriors would probably swap him out with Henry for a bit.

Wouldn't read too much into Mannering being named at 11 rather than his customary lock role. Bodene isn't playing and you would think he would get his starting role back for game 1. Both he and Hoffman are edge back rowers, they run good hard lines and have some ball playing ability. Neither suit the up the middle tackle work that Mannering does when he plays at lock. He will possibly get rested a little bit more this season but I would expect them to line up with Hoffman and Thompson on the edges with Mannering in the middle come TLT

No McKendry or RCG, so when they play it will involve a bit of a reshuffle. Probably Merrin to lock and Yeo to bench would be my guess.
Hopefully Cartwright gets his starting spot back over Peachey though.

Let's hope so... the predicted Round 1 teams on NRL.com have him starting at 11.
Some other odd predictions (and concerning for my team) are: SST (roosters) and JDB (Dragons) not starting. I currently have both in my 17.
If Aubbs gets the number 11 over SST he will probably get 80mins and SST wont see the benefit from cordner or JWH that we expected.
JDB usually scores ok off the bench. Both Thompson and LAM are starting and 70K less than JDB. Do you think it will be a case that he is on early and does large minutes?
