It's crazy that it comes around so quickly. By the end of the ashes and big bash etc it'll only be around 5 weeks. Can not wait!

Tried finding it on the forum but don't think I saw anything.
If there's a place to discuss the ashes/bbl and also betting/supercoach it'd be awesome to get involved.

Hoping that England can bat big and show they're up for the fight. The two day night tests should be a good contest!

Looks like Munster is finally getting his shit together. Could be a great POD to start with this coming season, if he fulfils his potential each week for Storm. Will miss week 1, so expect very few will start with him.

Parra getting busy - Simo and Rein for 2022, Hodgson for 2023 (presumably replacing Mahoney)

Kevin Naiqama has signed for the Roosters, which I guess is a "stay fit playing NSW Cup before the World Cup" kind of deal. But given the Roosters injury dramas last season he could jag some games.

We may not get an NRL season.

Omicron now has 200k cases per day in UK, going to be 1 million per day by the end of the month.

Everyone is getting Omicron and it is already entrenched in Australia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfO8verFP7E

Most of the data* "so far" suggests its mild and probably a good thing that it spreads.

I really hope our govt's don't over-react to this. Sick of it.

Anecdotally, its ripping through the kids at the moment.
4 schools near me have had partial closures this week due to cases. Confirmed case in my son's year so they are finishing the year from home. Also heaps of exposure venues in the local shops (and probably a heap more that don't know about because its not really publicised any more) Its swamping the testing clinics as there are a tonne of close/casual contacts that are required to get tested. Queues so bad that people are getting turned away.

Cases are going to go nuts though. QR codes/masks no longer mandatory in NSW for most settings - and we are hitting prime party season. After hitting 1000+ daily cases yesterday we won't be going below that number any time soon. Hospitalisations are the figure to watch though, if they stay low then they'll consider everything is fine.

The thing I am worried about is being declared a close contact and having to quarantine for 14 days. It wouldn’t be the first time this year and I couldn’t think of a worse way to spend christmas and New Years.

In NSW, close contacts now only have to isolate for 7 days. For the next week they only have to avoid high risk situations defined as - healthcare, aged care, disability care, early childhood centres, primary school and correctional facilities.

That rule only changed yesterday - did QLD bring in anything similar
