Sironen has so far stolen a career off the back of his dad's name, that is in reality, in fantasy terms he is far worse! for an 80 min back rower he stinks, worse than Trex and only slightly better than Sam Tagatese

Sironen was actually quite good for about 2 months or so at the back end of whatever season he first cracked the starting team.
Maybe not fantasy good, but was a useful and promising NRL player. Then we had an off season and he has under performed ever since.
Yep, when he was first moved to second rower from 5/8 at the end of 2013 he was our best for those couple of months.  A few tries, but also quite a few line breaks and try assists.

Worse thing is was slagging guys for considering him a few days ago...what shall we do in our early retirement mate? SC? How much is Aubbs in that?
It's allright, I was doing the same thing with Woodsy.  Different kettle of fish, but I have gone 180 on Woods and he is now my Gun prop.

I'm looking at Rankin and Barba rotating HLF/WFB if both named.

Ash Taylor not been in any drafts of my team for weeks. I think he will be another Moses or worse. Is this just me?

Only if you're relying on him as your 2nd half.  If he is just in the wings as an NPR then there's more upside to him then pretty much any other rookie in my book.  But yeah, no doubt a lot have him in their actual 17 at this stage.  Could be a masterstroke and there's nothing I can see that suggests he will be a Fantasy dud.

As long as he's not in the 17 he'll still make enough cash to be able to trade him out later on

This.  And Loomer, why would you consider Rankin over Taylor?  Rankin will only ever be on the wing (or maybe centre) after Round 1.  And personally I think JLJ will get Brooks jersey for Round 1 anyway.  Taylor has a halves position locked up that is his to lose.

How's everyone shaping up coming into TLW?

My current locks for my team are
Segs fifita woods Cartwright dce hastings taylor aubs at ctr (if 2nd row)mansour gordon barba (if fb)

Interested in your thoughts on the below
    Napa
    Kane evans
    NAS
    Rochow
    Merrin

Napa already priced at 40 and Kevans at 30 but thinking these guys along with moa will be carrying the roosters the first 8 to 10 weeks, surely there's some upside there?

Rochow priced around 35..I'm thinking 80 mins for sure and seen as a future captain etc should mean he can hopefully avg 40 plus

Merrin is the tricky one. I'm thinking he's someone who may not impress in thr first month but will pay off across the season.

NAS genuinely open to opinions on. Also talk of grevs on here seems odd. HE'S a good player but leaving for pa thers in 2017,no one worried about the effect of that on his role?

Just bumping this for anyone who's got an opinion?

Tapine to the Raiders confirmed! Vaughan was one of my first men picked a month ago but this complicates things so much. Thoughts on the forwards rotation now?

i had vaughan in my side from the start but pulled him out earlier in the week. i dont think he will turn into the beast i expected with the rise of boyd and now soliola moving into the middle as well + lima + FPN + fensom doing his usual middle job as well.

My opinions on players your other post:

Napa/Kane evans - i think both will get around 50 mins, napa maybe slightly higher. more value in evans. evans is very close to my team but not in it atm.
NAS - i dont think he'll score higher than he is priced.
Rochow - im just not a fan. i think he's a 35-40 point avg, 40 at best. he's been discussed so much and people have differing opinions
Merrin - i have merrin. i'm not all that concerned with his move to prop because i still think he'll pump out 55's in fairly big mins.

Yeah you right. I can have Barba and Rankin both at WFB and Taylor at HLF. He's too cheap to have any downside

Current 5 most expensive in my team

    Surgess
    Merrin
    DCE
    Teddy
    Lichaa

Good enough or will I be punished for starting 4th season without CS9 and/or CP13?

Cheers MTB. Yeah the Vaughan one was tough to take as I was so excited about him in 2016.

Kevans I dont see getting 50 mins but if he gets 40 plus he should avg around 40 which already makes him a great buy.

Agreed on Rochow and Merrin. Rochow I'm going with thinking he's priced at 35 and hoping for about 40 to 45 off 70 to 80 minutes. Not a cartwright type but hoping he'll be the 80 min 2rf there at a depleted Knights pack.

Merrin will be interesting to watch, reckon he could get 60 plus mins?

Looking at 2014 stats Surgess matched or bettered CS9 8 times not including where one of them didn't play.

If you take out the one time they tied on 76pts Surgess averaged 17pts more.

Obviously this is a form of cherry picking

Parker at 28% ownership and Smith at 21%.  Certainly a long way down on the last 4 or 5 years.  I have neither as well, and am looking at Surgess as Captain.  Just a bit worried about his first couple of games, but I have a couple of others like you to fall back on.  In saying that, Souths injuries mean a lot is resting on Surgess from the get go.

Yes but surgess didn't play NRL last year. He's still an unknown quantity this year. But I think he will go big.

I still will put the C on Parker to begin with though.

If my suspicions are confirmed ill move it to surgress.

Your issue is if he doesnt prove to be a big gun, how the hell are you going to get Cam or parker in?

Just looking at Whitehead vs Sue at the moment... Sue might be the safer pick at the start of the season, even though I don't see him increase much

As long as you don't want any growth out of him then he is fine. Im not sure why you would want a mid priced 2rf who wont cow for you and shouldnt be in your squad come the end of the season.

Its a bit of a waste imo
