Im pretty sure Dolphin Conspiracies is an alt of someone who played last time. For some clarification though everything will be done through this website. I will communicate with you through the main thread and you will have a private thread only your tribe can see. You can communicate privately through your PMs.

How it works is each week I will set a challenge to both tribes. Sometimes it will be a team challenge and you and your tribe mates will need to decide on an answer. Sometimes it will be an individual challenge but your score contributes to your tribes. These challenges will be all sort of footy and fantasy related challenges such as picking a team of players that will outscore their average by the most. Sometimes it will be just as simple as picking a team that will score the most fantasy points. and Sometimes it might be not fantasy related at all like ordering a select group of players by who you think will get the most run metres or most missed tackles and errors

(These are off the top of my head and may or may not be in the actual game)

The losing tribe will go to tribal council where the tribes people on that tribe will vote one of their tribemates off. That is why it will be important to pm your tribe mates to build alliances and sometimes break them.

The goal is to be the last person standing. It gets a lot clearer as you start to play.

It is a lot of fun so I do recommend you join. There is enough to play the game as it is but there is still 6 slots left that would be really good to fill.

This is a game about strategy and football and fantasy knowledge. Alliances will be formed, challenges will be won and backs will be stabbed as 24 (16-24) players will fight to be the sole survivor.

Thanks, but it sounds like I wouldn’t have the time to play it properly. Good luck all.

Is the general consensus on here to go a guns/cows strategy this year?

Currently got a team with like 5/6 guns and the rest just cheapies as that's what I feel most comfortable with at the moment

Well if you mean cows as in will make x amount of coin. 150k then yes.

Lot of guys between 3-500 as opposed to 228-300 that will be in teams.

If the NRL is all about equality there should been a blond v rangas white fellas trial game. Get sauce Flegler a week off his suspension then.
    Ranga XIII

    1. Kalyn Ponga - obvious choice here, however, some controversy as he isn't a proud ranga often obscures the view of his luscious red locks with his headgear
    2. Brad Parker - Your stock standard. Slots really well into this team. Quite an obvious pick
    3. Adam Keighran - The orange beard to go with the well-groomed red top. Versatile.
    4. Kurt Mann - Played a few seasons too many. Burst onto the scene with a head you could toast a marshmallow on but the flame has died out over the last few years. Looking a bit brown at the moment.
    5. Matt Dufty - Scraping the bottom of the barrel here; Strawberry Blonde in the right light
    6. Jackson Hastings - The top was controversial but the red beard pulled him over the line. Will need a big game and the right lighting to solidify his spot.
    7. Tom Dearden - Obvious inspiration from the Jimmy Graham style ranga. Just enough redness to get him into contention
    8. Corey Horsburgh (c) - Obvious captaincy choice. Plays like a ranga. Looks like a ranga. Acts like a ranga. Leads from the front.
    9. Reuben Cotter - Strawberry Brown at best. Tried to pull a Luke Keary and plead his case to play for the other team but once he got into camp his heart changed. Despite this he is a pacemaker at best
    10. Dylan Napa - might not be in the NRL but as a former captain he was hard to leave out. The combination with Horsburgh is lethal.
    11. Mitch Barnett - Toils hard. The buzz cut hides it but he can't escape it. In his heart he is as proud as anyone to represent this team
    12. Sam McIntyre - Goes under the radar and I'm not too sure why. Isn't the flashiest but has earnt his spot in the team
    13. Alex Seyfarth - Is a man that this team can build around. Red hair runs well and truly in his jeans genes.

I don’t have TPJ in my side currently. TPJ’s benefit was that he is DPP. Now that Smith is available (different DPP) he’d possibly be a good option. Uto /AFB perhaps, but neither is in my team either. Since there is no obvious like for like what about putting TPJ’s money towards two players -D Fafita (Edge) JTB as a cheap 3rd Mid? I’m looking at Smith as I desperately need a second Hooker, not another Edge.

Is there much value in Cheese?

He scored a lot of tries last year - can he keep that up? And if not where are the points coming from

Doesn't quite score enough to be a keeper either.

Likely the consensus, I am doing my usual, targeting more subguns that I am looking to make the step up, which you can see in my team tracker.

They need to have a Tonga vs Samoa game the same night, so they can get off too.

I'm running with 4 guns (DFifita, Cleary, Burton & Papy), 3 guns in the making (Uto, Hynes, Sexton), and a whole paddock full of cows.

Have the Storm definitely changed their system? I didn’t see the game on the weekend.

Are we counting Flegler and Hudson Young as blonde, because they should have selection on heritage grounds at least.

We'll have to ask Coach James Graham.

I don't think they have changed their system. Bellamy has had to change things up a bit due to suspensions and injuries.

No clues from the weekend. They played Wishart as starting hooker with both Grant and Cheese on bench, presumably because they still thought they'd both be out round one and he needed the miles. He looked pretty good, actually. Fucking Storm.

Depends how you strictly you define "Cows + Guns"

The original intention is basically "no midrangers". So guys like Sexton/Uto/Hynes would not be covered by a strict cows+gun team. A purist would rather have Haas+Paulo than Uto+Hynes

That's why people come up with terms like "subguns", "guns in the making" - so they can internally justify the dirty little middies that are infesting their team

I don't think many people run without any middies at all. But if you are truly devoted to the Cow+Gun philosophy, in case of doubt always err on the side of squeezing another high calibre player in and find another base price player to allow it.
