He is listed as available Round 6 on nrl.com

I have had my eye on Wilton all preseason, saying if he gets a chance he is straight in my team. He looks like he is getting his chance.

My strategy for this game is trying to find players with massive upside potential. He fits that nicely.
I agree that Wilton looks like a sub-gun in waiting at Edge - but, to fit him in I'd have to ditch Luki.
Do you think Wilton outscores Luki - assuming Luki has the Cows Edge position locked up.

I'm not convinced any of the Cowboys edges have a position locked up.

I haven't watched much of Luki, but strikes me as being Kikau light. Going to get about 60 minutes for a 40 average, (last year averaged 37 in 62 minutes as starting edge). The other edge should play 80 each week.

If he starts for a month, every chance he takes Nikora's spot when Graham returns. Is the better player.

    Is this an actual thing?

Nikora has been really good preseason IMO and is an international. Hard to see a path where he is 100% fit and replaced by Wilton

I was for the most part a happy Wilton owner towards the end of last year until he went and got injured for a month. I would entertain his selection

He was selected ahead of Nikora in rounds 17 and 18 last year, (Nikora wasnt injured). Wilton was injured after that, so Nikora got his spot back. Was the preferred player by the previous coach in that position at the time.

    What a fucking horrible decision.

I made the joke last year after we signed Lodge and went after DeBelin "Who's next, Dylan Walker?!"
Pretty hard to keep supporting a club when they constantly try and sign players with histories of domestic violence.

EDIT: To clarify I'm not telling Mattnz to fuck off. I'm saying "fuck off" to the Warriors.

Definitely not a great look having 3 guys on the roster with DV allegations/charges. Walker especially is a rancid piece of shit with the allegations of what he did to his partner (in front of their infant son no less). Plus the assault charges which he plead guilty to and somehow didn't miss any games? At least Wighton got like 10 weeks for something similar.

Anyway i'd be horrified if Souths signed him, the sooner pieces of trash like Walker are out of the game the better

True. And did just read Nikora has not been offered a contract renewal yet. Still a fair risk but it’s not the riskiest

The Fog news might draw a few people into Jarrod Croker assuming he's GK again now.

The upside is huge if he can put up an average of 50 per week in base, (Curran level for almost $200k less), plus any attacking stats, well worth any perceived risk.

Matt gonna Matt, but yeah, i'd rather not pick a guy who is 500k and a trade out after 5 or so rounds. One of two 30's and its a completely pointless exercise.

Use up enough trades early on as it is.

fair enough .... alternatively he is putting up 50s and 60s (like in 7 of his 9 games as starting edge in his rookie season) and $600k+ when Graham returns and replaces Nikora on the other edge (again) and everyone goes, oh shit!

I don't see it as any more risky than Aitken or Katoa with Harris returning, which will push Curran to an edge.

Every year there is that one Papalii that no one backs and even when they gun it at the start everyone says that they can't keep it up until they do and by that time they are already 700k. I think if you can pick that player it is not going to win you the comp but it will help you a lot.

I think if you believe a player is talented enough and can score well enough. And has 4 weeks to prove his case I think you may aswell take a gamble on him. Worst case scenario you get 4 weeks of decent scoring, make 80k then have to use a trade on to a cow that is now a lot more obvious then at the start and should guarantee you money.

Best case scenario. You have a keeper or close to it that not many others had and potentially might need to to waste a trade on later

Why are people so keen on Penisini? I'm not saying people shouldn't be or presenting a case for why he shouldn't I just want to know the reason for the hype.
