    Who's rating Peachey?

Last year we could pick him at CTR which made him very fantasy relevant. This year he's only being discussed in relation to his potential impact on Uto's minutes

Dirt cheap and playing for what will probably be the top 3 teams in the league. So hopefully they will be scoring tries or assisting in them somehow

There is potential these three players struggle to score 50 points all together in a week if the dont get any attacking stats.

They'll also take too long to make enough money to upgrade to anyone useful so you'll end up downgrading one of your forwards to strengthen your wfb.

These last few days before tlt can get a bit crazy. If you were keen on a player all preseason and done your own research go with your gut. Dont get sucked into the flavour of the week aka NAS last year.

mattnz wrote:There are a few key things that have changed for Uto from his big minute scoring run to finish last season, that means those expecting huge minutes are likely to be disappointed.

    1. Tamou didn't play 5 of the last 6 games and looks to have got injured, only playing 27 minutes in the 6th of these games. Tamou never played off the bench all last season and is their captain. Is missing from round 1 team with a suspension. Screams trap!

    2. Even if Uto is named at prop ahead of Tamou for round 2 when he returns, Twal would be the prop next to him and is easily capable of 60-80 minutes. I wouldn't be banking on Twal going off the field first.

    3. Peachey has arrived. Another big minute MID that looks to be starting lock.

All this combined means Uto isnt the value buy everyone expects and isn't getting in my team, until they have a couple of injuries that would free up big minutes.

    1. Tamou did play the first 2 of those last 8 games where Uto started and got decent minutes. Tamou minutes in those 2 didn’t change from previous. I’m pretty comfortable whether Tamou plays or not is irrelevant to Utos role. I’d expect both to start R2 and it not to matter. More interesting is…

    2. Twal clearly fell behind Tamou/Uto in the pecking order, playing 30 mins R16 and benched R18 (Uto first start of 8 ) and R21 (Tamou low min, possibly injured game you mention). The confusing part is in R20, 22-25 he played huge minutes named as prop or lock. I guess it’s whether it was necessity - due to injuries and inexperience of other players - or he played himself back to a more prominent role..

    3. Peachey is a wildcard, I’d be surprised he affects Uto too much but it’s a risk

I think Momo will do well at the Roosters, he'll be one of the top CTRs this season especially if he takes on the GK at times. Just a bit pricey at the moment, but could be a good option for your final 17

Re Taumalolo 1 thing that hasn't been mentioned is he was physically smaller in 2021 & imo this was the cause of his points drop off because he didn't seem able to bust those tackles & make damaging runs.

I think he starts at prop all year, but it doesnt necessarily mean he gets the mins everyone hopes for.

Definitely wont be a disaster of a selection

However, Taumalolo is confident the trial on an edge won’t be carried into this season and he’ll remain in the middle.

“If everyone is healthy and we don’t have any injuries, I don’t see myself shuffling to the edges. I think I’m best suited in the middle,” he said.

“I have trimmed down a bit and it’s better considering where the game is going and how much quicker it has gotten over the last few years.

“The way the game is being played, you have to be on your toes and moving quickly. You can’t carry too much weight.

*I dont think it matters too much

It looks like Twal was injured R16, playing 30 mins, and therefore missed round 17 as well, returning from injury off the bench in round 18. Was missing again in round 19.

Uto only got big minutes when one of Twal or Tamou was either injured mid-game, or missing due to injury. He is their backup guy that can play big minutes if required when key players aren't available.

He is sure to start at prop round 1, with Tamou out suspended.

Could easily play 60 minutes that round, then benched for round 2 with Tamou returning.

Alternatively he keeps the spot, but plays maybe 45 minutes, scoring at the level he is priced at.

If he is going to average mid to high 40s as a keeper CTR, he isn't pricey. Makes him much better value than a guy like Cobbo in his price bracket, and in a different league to the cheaper guys like Crichton.

Me too , cant see how he keeps getting contracts - on top of the running in circles he bombs more tries than he creates by trying to do it all himself like a kid in the Under 10,s.

Having just watched another old Lolo highlights package, the thing you forget is that the guy was *fast* as well as having the footwork and strength. If shedding a few pounds brings back that acceleration it's linebreak city. (Caveat - I'm a sucker for highlights videos https://youtu.be/GpjnXSn7gR0 )
