If the Cavs win then yup, Lebron will get MVP. So I'm banking on OKC winning the finals. I think Lebron is at about $2 or so now.

Probably so he's got something to be happy about either way? I've bet against the Tigers in a few games where they were hot favourites for that reason.

This of sorts. I think with their squad line up minus Mitch Pearce they are a real shot plus having two home games helps.

I just can't ever bring myself to put money on QLD. Ever. I physically don't have it in me to even be slightly happy over a QLD win.

I also don't bet on either team as I can't see clearly through the blind loyalty. I will have a go at first try scorer, at this stage leaning towards Jennings.

Ive had a good run over the last few years betting against Liverpool when playing teams in the bottom half of the table. Usually pays well, by that i mean paying for beers after the game

Yes.  Same here, but moreso simply stay away from them when faves,  phenomenal how often they cannot get it done when expected.

depends what you want to get out of it i suppose.

a general first timer tip - start small, never bet more money than you are prepared to lose, no matter how good the bet seems.

as per above, i think the bet of the weekend is the eels line (-8.5) @ 1.90 odds. (telling people your 'best bets' seems to backfire though, always happens).

if you're only betting small amounts (eg $5 or $10) then multi's are fun, obviously more difficult to win but the reward therefore greater.

i'd recommend only ever betting a sport you follow closely, and trust your gut (bit like fantasy).

also, there are a hell of a lot of sign up bonuses at various bookies. eg deposit $50 get $100 worth of bonus bets. personally i reckon use the bonus bets for things like first try scorers and such (bets with reasonable odds) and see if you can jag a couple.

The biggest mistake people make is not getting the best possible odds. Take advantage of sign up bonuses and then use whichever bookie is offering the best odds for your bet. Getting an extra 10c in your dividend doesn't sound like much but over the course of a year it can mean the difference between profit and loss.
An example is the Tigers tonight being $4 with William hill but a missive $4.35 with UBet. Most Bookies are offering around $1.90-$1.95 for NSW but with Bet365 you can get $2. They definitely add up and that's without getting into promotions.

Thanks MTB well my cousin does it and its a good way to kill time. I put in $25 to get the bonus bet of $75 but they stuffed up so now I have to make one bet of the whole amount of $25 to get the bonus money. I've just done it I put it on the Broncos. I'm pretty nervous haha. Hoping the Bronx win im planning to pull out my original $25 and just have the rest playing money.

I don't know I think its a bit of fun and if I get my original money back i'll feel a lot better haha

I have embraced the don't bet on Warrior's game mantra, but should really implement the same rule on Tiger's games.

I'm putting money on the Bronco's so the Tiger's win.
