I wish you all the best, but I was with one of the well known Highlanders today and he basically said cause they are without their ABs they won't win that one. He was a bit gutted cause he was stoked with how the Blues went and reckons the Highlanders would otherwise have given the Lions a run for their money.

That being said, fuck the Lions were shit last night. They may as well play the game with 10 players.

Don't get me wrong that Lions performance against the Babars was perhaps one of the most outrageous pro rugby "performances" Ive seen. They should have put 50 on those guys - they were literally semi-pros up against the cream of the crop from the NH. But the Lions will get better as this tour goes on. Their combinations will improve and I think they will start to get more focussed for these Super Rugby games. When the Highlanders are without their ABs they are a completely different side (see results from 2 seasons ago when there was mandatory 2 games rest for all ABs). They won't win this game IMO - they have a fighters chance, but when a senior AB says they won't win it doesn't fill you with confidence.

The Maori's constantly underperform too as a team. I think the Lions will beat them as well.

Here's the list of guys who won't be playing Tuesday: Ben Smith, Aaron Smith, Rob Thompson, Joe Wheeler, and Tom Franklin.

They can probably survive without the last three but the Smith's are integral. That being said I was expecting more guy out so it could have been worse. Mala, Waisake, Lima, and Coltman will all play.

Yeah considering when we put the odds on it was 229/1 and now if you tried it's only 59/1

Kiwi teams specialise in broken field play and the Lions kick for field possession, so there's enough of a chance to get excited about it.

Time will tell. I think if they lose to the Highlanders it'll be time to get excited.
