    Spoiler:

43.6 avg, LS 31 and HS 62. Average becomes 40.4 without goal kicking where I'd assume he is behind Burton and Averillo. So you're looking at a 40 average in a lower grade of competition where he threw 9 assists in 7 games and all of a sudden he's looking a bit yucky imo. I reckon at this stage I prefer HTF and his DPP for the extra $75k odd.

I'll have a look at him in trials and he's still on my shortlist though. Like you say, full preseason in an improved team he could easily translate some of those attacking stats into first grade and if he can scrap 35 a game in any manner (no diagrams on the scorecard) then I'd be happy as an owner.

Only 2 tries in those 7 games, (compared with 7 tries at CTR last year). Note that the stats we get on reserve grade exclude turnovers, escapes from in goal, try saves, line break assists (would have had 8 or 9 of them just from tries, plus any others), kicks defused so is likely a few points short of actual scoring, as they are all stats that fullbacks typically score well in. Could easily add 5-8 points to his scoring each game, considering he stacks the stat sheet in all the stats we can access.

Wayne Bennett will unleash Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow at fullback and has handed the Dolphins’ foundation No. 7 jersey to the former understudy of Kangaroos halfback Nathan Cleary.

The Courier-Mail can reveal Dolphins coach Bennett has settled on the playmaking spine to lead the NRL’s 17th club into its inaugural season.

Penrith recruit Sean O’Sullivan will be given first crack at the coveted halfback role alongside fellow former Bronco Anthony Milford at five-eighth.

Bulldogs recruit Jeremy Marshall-King is set to start at hooker while Bennett has guaranteed ex-Broncos half Kodi Nikorima will be in his best 17, likely as a super sub.

Got excited there that we were getting a $230k starting halfback in Isaiya Katoa

I see Perham's 45 average at fullback in reserve grade as more indicative of his potential, after having a full preseason training in that position, than his bit part opportunities occasionally filling in at center or wing in first grade. Many won't see that upside potential and will miss out on him. If he massively falls short of the 45 average and only hits 35, he is still great value at his price point of 21.

Have a look at a guy like Ramsey last season, was averaging 12 on the wing, then moved to fullback and averaged 38.

I took your advice and had a look.
Ramsey averaged 24 on the wing, no?
Then 36 at fullback, but also had noticeably more first grade experience prior to his shift to fullback.
I'm not sure why misrepresent his wing average?

I also noted that Jake Averillo (also significantly more experienced) managed a 30 average playing fullback at the same club that Perham is now playing for - which included 7 tries in 10 games. So, on balance it seems there is a realistic possibility Perhams floor average could be under 35 - a 35+ average certainly isn't guaranteed

As previously stated Ramsey's average last season on the wing was only 12, he had games of 25, 10 and 3 points.

Excluding the game where he was injured after 10 minutes, he averaged 38 at fullback.

Perham seems to have a very different game to Avo from what we have seen to date, he sets up others to score tries, doesn't need to be the try scorer himself to score well.

NSW Cup stats for backs are useful for ruling players out not in. Standard of competition is so much lower that while you know someone who scores badly there has very little chance of being fantasy relevant in the NRL, scoring well is no guarantee of anything (particularly when you consider the reserve team could be more dominant than the firsts).

Slight exception with forwards where you can get a guage of their workrate, but again ignore attacking stats.

That said... Dogs should be better this year, Perham looks like he has game, if Ciraldo uses the Penrith system he should have a decent Edwards base running the ball back, I'll probably jump on.

Ok. Couldnt help but check Perhams price..hes 298k?? Given chat i assumed he must have been a more awkward price. If hes fullback round 1, then he's in my 3rd WFB/NPRs until hes dropped in round 4

If he survives hes probably average about 30-35..he wont even get close to 45

It was a lovely send off for my Nanna today. My Sister and I held things together well. I know she is resting now but it is a very low feeling I have tonight a really empty empty feeling!

Out of interest I went digging through some old stats and found 2013 under 20s

Most of the forwards ended up close to their under 20s stats when in the right role but the backs didn't go close.

    Spoiler:

Is there a point here? Probably not

News round-up. Reading between lines, sounds like Papi won't be around until mid-season:

    https://www.nrl.com/news/2023/01/01/casualty-ward-all-the-latest-nrl-injury-news-updates-returns-details/

And all is up in the air in the Titans backline. Boyd looks to have the inside on number 7 but Sexton also training there. Campbell training centre (!). Some wraps for AKB but also for Spry. Kelly back shortly anyway

I'm interested in Boyd, but I don't like that he hasn't cemented the spot. Even if he starts in Round 1, they could shuffle him out of the team or to the bench if the experiment doesn't work.

Boyd has both Jayden Campbell and Toby sexton to compete with and potentially Tom Weaver aswell.
A couple losses and Jayden Campbell will be hard to keep out of the side. And Brimson won’t be the one making way for him. I’m a titans fan and want to see Boyd carve up but a lot of question marks even if he’s named on TLT
