But I don’t disagree, especially with Hook as coach anything could happen in R2, Sloan (& maybe Bird) are only interests for me. With Sullivan racing fitness, could see Bird moved to halves and you wouldn’t have any warning

Also just because Dragons are closer to finishing their byes doesn’t mean they’re instantly better options. Broncos/Cowboys/Eels/Rabbitohs cashies being traded to these teams that have early byes could get 2-3 more games per player across the season

Yeah maybe a bit heavy lol! apologies to any Dragons fans, in fairness though I am a Cowboys supporter so I am somewhat of an expert on what a shit team looks like lol!

And agreed, that was probably my point however poorly worded, your season can be won and lost in those first 5 or so rounds and there’s teams that won’t see a bye till round 13. Dragons byes or not seem irrelevant based on the options provided (Bird could be that exception DPP handy again too)

Don’t think that’s an issue for Mr conspiracies, he’s starting with Bird and Suli in his centres round 1 as well. What’s another $600k on top of the 1.1mill in red dot centres?

I've ditched Suli for Penisini. Still got Bird. Have already got my HOK sorted so no need for Liddle. Just commenting that he was good value

Not one player in the whole team averaging above 50 last year and won’t be again this year. I’ll probably get Sloan as a loop for round one and hopefully some quick cash now that Ramsey is out, and that’s it.

Bird at LOCK averaged 55. If he is a big minute LOCK playing at CTR you would be mad not to pick him

Here's a left field option for anyone who wants one - Ken Maumalo.

Might seem insane given that he only averaged 25 last year (and is priced at that), but he had a few games where he did not play the full 80. Removing those leaves him with an average of 33.2, in a team that won the spoon.

If the Tigers do improve a bit (which seems likely given their signings), then I don't see why Ken Maumalo can't average 2 points more, and average 35 (which puts him over the 10 points of value mark)

This is excellent analysis which points to Ken Maumalo being a great pick up..

I'm mentally preparing to be 100 points behind after round 1 after Cleary buries another fella for a grand total of -4 captaincy points.

Talk on Dogs forum that Nu Brown has been training at lock and that plans are Mahoney could be playing 80 most weeks.

Mahoney does interest me potentially. He has good numbers for 2020 and 21, last year his attacking stats were down and he rushed out of the line a lot uncharacteristically missing more tackles.

Going a Mahoney at hooker would allow me to fit in Cleary and Murray plus potentially Burton.

probably the edge has more value than mids but in terms of mids i'd say:
    e. clark 594k currently hok but if he starts at lock which seems likely he'll get dpp hok/mid
barnett 617k coach says he'll play a bit on the edge & a bit in the middle so to me he's a wait & see
nas 612k end of last season he did well on the edge & will get dpp if he starts on the edge but the storm have enough edge forwards so unlikely
    l. thompson 612k has a big motor & someone will benefit with more mins cause jackson played 80 mins will it be him or will it be spread around cause the doggies have a starting pack that all have big motors including king, rfm, kikau, sutton, tpj
    a. elliott 606k the knights lost klemmer & barnett who played big mins he's a no brainer imo
    tpj 593k too volatile imo
horsburgh 590k with elliott & sutton gone does he start & establish himself as a lock playing 55-60 mins
gilbert 567k left the cowboys to become a flipper but depends where he starts lock or front row rotation
collins 536k with sst gone, watson suspected patella tendon injury which has the potential to wipe out his season & lodge on a train & trial deal as his contract is pending then collins could see bump in mins
    sutton 491k refer l. thompson
nicholls 426k bennett confirmed he'll be starting prop
utoikamanu 396k good price if starts at prop
jack hetherington 362k rumoured to be starting edge if so will get dpp as currently classified as an edge fwd
sele 336k rabbits reckons he'll be starting prop which will be great value as price at 23 pts
ray stone 257k i thought i'd mention him he's excellent value if starting lock but gilbert could get the gig unless gilbert is used in the front row which he probably suits his game because he's not a ball player with a passing game he just tucks the ball in & runs hard

many of the above don't excite me but there is potential for some good options

Happy new year guys! Just wanted to acknowledge this excellent post and hopefully I'll find some time to do some posting in the near future.

    Some Flipper talk:

Gilbert to start at lock and then shift to prop when Stone comes on. Stone coming off the ACL so will be blowing a bit at first, but will build in to the season well.

Wayne is a big fan of KNik and will play him at stints off the bench at 9, meaning JMK sitting about 60-odd minutes. JMK underrated though, had a solid season at the dogs and quiet achiever.

Aitken is set at right centre, but left is up for grabs between: Te Whare, Niu, Gilardt, Tu... Te Whare been training a lot in left centre through set plays etc... getting a lot of reps. Maybe the front runner? He's dropped some weight in the pre season and looking good.

Smokeys: Faamausili, Ese'ese, Teague and to an extent, Lemuele and Tu. 4th bench spot really up for grabs. Tu is electric, probably doesn't land a centre gig but could slot in on a wing.

Going to be much lower try scoring numbers for the Titans but still probably 7-8 points of value in a base price option. Will be buried deep in my 21 spot
I have enough WFB’s, Stone (even if off the bench) should be a much better option surely. He should get good minutes, is dual, and one injury away from starting. AKP in Supercoach looks a good 7th Centre /Wing but surely a risk in Fantasy, even at 21. Even Sloan seems a far better option.

Agreed, but how can you be so sure he isn’t moved to the halves or even FB. He’s far too versatile in a bery unstable team and an even less stable coach.

Bennett does like experience, but some of the young guys are really showing up. Teague is a great young player and has that connection with Katoa - could be a great link up in the near future.

What is everyone's prediction for Josh Schuster. His HLF/EDG DPP is very valuable and he is popular so if he gets out to a good start and you don't choose him you could be behind the 8-ball

Does anyone have any idea of whether he will stand back like Foran or demand the ball a bit more and offset some of Cherry-Evans ball-pigging. Perhaps there is too much uncertainty to pull the trigger. Some base price HLF/EDG/MID would be ideal for covering all positions in the reserves
