Worrying about rankings after 1 week is utterly pointless mate, don't sweat it and have faith in some selectionsArcher wrote:
Yeah Grants a plodder, over him already, but I also don't see any reason LAM gets more minutes. I guess one more week to find out probably won't make or break me though, already ranked way out at 19k . But thanks, it was helpful, I don't think extra options are ever a bad thing.

I traded whitehead out for Mannering In the end and woods for paul carter, my Forwards packed with scores atm, it also gives me a good captain to pick, I only had DCE,Woods,J.brom or S,burgess that will get 50+ a week stats wise Gi was captain last week but i'm not expecting to see those numbers to much.

I'm kidding you, mate. I know Whitehead's game from ESL and am holding. Didn't pick LAM as didn't rate him as highly as some.
Like i mentioned annoying thing with LAM is there was no apparent reason why his minutes were down, played big minutes all pre season as well as the back end of last year and that was with Merrin also in the pack

I may have to re-elevate my guess, i thought he played way more then 25min on Friday. Maybe add 5 each to Starling and Lawrence and knock Vave back to 35min.

Anyone running with Jack Bird? Big score in a losing team. Unfortunately I didn't see the game.

Packer got more minutes than anyone was expecting, but my problem with the Dragons pack before the season was the whole JDB/Cooper situation and how their unknown positions and minutes affected everyone else. Only Dragons forward I'd consider going forward is an 80 minute Frizell.Welshy wrote:

Any possible trade for Carter into my team will hinge on Lichaa news. Out for too long and in comes Garvey and I get the cash for Carter. Out for a short time and it's a trade to another gun hooker

LAM predictions based on solid base stats and facts from last season, If posters can't form their own reasonings for selections and have to rely on others then they shouldn't be playing the game
Yeah we see all too often everyone here acting as one and trading in the same players...and then everyone getting burnt. It's great to consider other opinions but to do well you really need to make your own decisions in the end. Hence teams with POD's actually win the comp!

I have never seen a player do so much work in such a short period of time. Destroys all the "PPM Guns" but there is no way he could sustain it for 40 minutes

Getting Mannering and paul is going to be worth it, I was going to trade woods before state anyway. Mannering showed hes worth it. I believe I'm going to get some guns off of my forwards here that are going to jump in price nicely and can easlisy be traded out later if woods some how hits 60 each week and is a must have.Welshy wrote:Woods out? 1) Grant to Terepo and Leuluai to Carter with a leaving a kitty of 55k
2) Grant to Kims and LAM to Carter leaving me with 148k
3) Grant to Terepo and LAM to Carter leaving me with 277K
4) Grant to Mataora and Leuluai to Carter with 32K left
I think I like option 1 and 3 the most.
1 Gives LAM another week to see how his minutes go, though not sure if this is a good thing or what's worrying me. Assuming he gets low minutes and winds up with another 30, do we expect something like a 20k drop?
3 means I don't risk losing money on LAM but then I've taken two risks in Terepo and Carter.
2 Seems ok but I'm thinking I might bring in Kims next week with the cash I get in option 1 and 2.
Thoughts, Opinions, Anger?
I'm keeping the faith in Grant. He looked busy enough and got as many minutes as you would have hoped for. Thing is there were 11 tries so a lot of stoppages. I think he can potentially average 40 and that's all I wanted from him.

If I trade in Carter via a middie downgrade it should provide me with enough cash to turn Green into Brown next week if he gets stuck on the bench again, another decent reason to do it and not having to run with Gutherson as a starting CTR

I'm in the same boat as you, having to play either green or gutherson this week as starters is a shit choice to have. I'm leaning towards green, but only because the eels are playing the cowboys. But something is telling me it will be a high scoring game...

@RJConner
Honestly, I cant tell if you are trolling with your trade ideas or not. 1st you want to trade out J Brom, now Woods, both after round 1. I repeat, ROUND 1. Not round 11, but ROUND 1.
None of us are probably going to win the comp, but the way you are going you are playing with the mindset of "Short term gain, long term pain". Your team will crash and burn before round 20 if you trade like that.
Not having a go, it just seems like silly trades thats all....

For those that made the switch from liicha to garvey, are you guys gonna start with him this week or give it a week before selecting him in the 17?

Its not so much a herd mentality as it is taking what is thought to be good advice. I didn't rate Ah Mau until last year, had a good season both fantasy and game wise. I ended up running with him because of all of the positive evidence I read here, and because he was a perfect fit to my salary cap going into round one.
I plan on sticking with him. According to my die hard dragons mate, he didn't score well because he didn't get minutes -- simple as that. People who are panicking about him need to go back to that list of players that had shocker starts last year.
