Cheers guys, yeah it’s a bit of a tough one. If he had scored 39 I’d be leaning more towards hold. If he cost me 570k I’d be leaning towards hold.

Will see how I feel about it all in the morning

If it helps at all Tino is the first trade out for me too, sure he can go large again like he did the back end of last year, but yesterday was a grim fantasy performance from him - sprinting out of the line missing plenty of cheap tackles, not looking to offload whatsoever and not busting tackles. Sure he took alot of carries but if you aren't doing anything as previously stated it's not gonna end up in a good fantasy score and at his price he's bound to lose more cash. Was a dumb decision by myself to start with him regardless, I got too carried away with his end of 2022 form at prop when I could've splashed some extra cash for Haas or gone much cheaper with Carrigan. Lesson learnt!

A few players I'm interested in but that potentially played more minutes than they otherwise would have...

Shaq - 45mins. Tatola played 1 minute & Arrow only played 22. I assume he won't play 45 each week.

    Nicholls 49mins. Wallace only 24mins.

Twal - 68mins. Blore played 16mins before Kepaoa came on. Did he play 2RF or was there a shuffle?

Just on this as well with Nicholls. I was interested in him but if Wallace is fine and Big Herman plays I can see him having less minutes.

Still absolutely great for a cash grab

Kepaoa played 2RF no shuffle required.
Joe Ofahengaue had a preseason injury set back and is building up match fitness according to the coach (only played 30 mins).
It's possible Twal continues with big minutes, but I'd guess he's more likely to drop back to maybe a 50-65 range?

What does the Nicholls cash grab look like if he gets consistent 25-40 scores from here?

I see him more as a guy who slow burns for you, and if that's the case he's got value as a guy who plays all but one of the MBR's, but as a cashie he might have 100k or so left in him imo.

If he averages 40 the next few weeks then he should reach around 580k by Round 4 so he doesn't have that much $$ to milk tbh

I was thinking about this - would Joe ramping up with minutes indirectly affect Utoikamanu's through Twal?

    More likely directly impacts.

Both Twal and Klemmer played huge minutes before being eventually subbed.

I was looking at Nicholls (and Ilias) for the cash grab reason and moved away from that.

Cartwright, Chee Kam or S. Mitchell are more suited I feel.

Yeah I feel both Nicholls and Ilias have had their peak game. No reason they can’t get to 100k more in rises but is that worth trading them in and out?

Those 3 you mentioned not without risk either. MCK particularly has Host returning in R3 according to casualty ward, and Mitchell benefited from Arrow/Tatola outs

Can we expect 80mins from Jing every week?

77 will be an outlier but he should score 50's with those minutes.

I genuinely wanted to start with Shaq over Preston but got nervous he was get the 3rd bench prop treatment that a few teams have done with only giving them 10 odd minutes. Guess that’s still a possibility with a full team but I reckon he’ll get some game time now he’s shown his worth

Why would you have looked at selecting him over Moale who was starting?

They're good (Nicholls/Ilias) as players you intend to hold through the MBR's but you'll always be able to swoop on good scorers through the year around the byes. Would've been nice to start with either.

I do like Cartwright of the three. Utoikamanu > Cartwright > Tatola (rd 5-7) would pay for itself.

Only game I didn't catch was Dolphins/Roosters.  As it turns out it was my GF's Birthday or some such...

Didn't expect much more from Cheese, but Egan Butcher looked the goods stats wise pre season, but disappointing score.
