Doesn't pass the 'no shit players' rule, but I also don't really see who's stealing minutes from him with that bench. Does Bird spend a bit of time in the second row?

Jamie from NRL Fantasy analysis was discussing him, apparently he was getting 70 minutes in the trials, which is far more than we have seen him play before.

To me he is a wait and see, but if getting 60+ minutes, is probably in my team next week.

There's a plethora of Edge options this year and he isn't one of them.

This Cheese debate is one of the reasons I think it's important to have clear reasons/expectations in mind when buying a player. That way, you can evaluate the process, not the outcome.

For mine, all the reasons Cheese was a good buy initially (underpriced based off previous hooker performances, playing for a strong team, very handy dual, highly owned etc) are still valid. He simply got unlucky with HIAs and other injuries effecting his role. Even without that, it was telegraphed that he may not play 80 initially and has a history of being the kind of guy who can score 30 one week and 70 the next.

That happens, but don't confuse the outcome with the process. Feels hugely reactive to sell him after one week.

The best thing about BMM was when everyone thought he was DPP.

If he plays good minutes (i.e. anything over 40) there's value but i am going to approach any Dragons players with extreme caution.

However, the Dragons don't appear to have an overabundance of Edge forwards so maybe that's something

A lot of chat about bringing in Carty this week. I get it, I support it. It makes sense for a cash grab, even if it comes with RISK.

In saying that, would I not be better bringing in BBM for that same risk. Upside is he's big minutes and hold his role in a depleted pack.
Saves me $47k right off the bat by not chasing Cartwright.

    I think I prefer BBM

The HIA to Tonumaipea probably changed the rotation. Any thoughts?

Don't know, but they do have Kamikamica to come back into the team, plus Tariq Sims in some capacity (personally don't think he'll play a big role).

The fact that people are now considering Turpin is why some of these theories being put forward aren't just funny, some are actually going to take it seriously and cost them trades and rankings

I’ll cop it, wouldn’t surprise me, he has the game to go bananas

Just doesn't seem as fun/risky/stupid to me. Its probably a smart move though.

Eisenhuth as well might have some effect on the rotation.

    Latrell good to go... NRL.com.

But how much will that PCL impact fantasy?

Turpin replaced Smith for HIA, then came back on at 28 minutes, when Lodge went off (not the Lodge HIA, a planned interchange), there had been no other HIAs at that stage. Obviously Cheese moved to lock then in a planned move.

Since that game, the situation has got worse with the Lodge injury and potentially Radley being out (more than likely).

From game 1, Turpin was intended to get what looks like 50+ minutes at HOK, with Cheese playing lock for significant periods. The bench named this week shows that this should continue. If you replace Lodge with JWH and they keep the same game plan, he still has a HOK / Lock role, not a big minute HOK role.

Have you considered that Robinson might play his best hooker at hooker and play the fringe first grader (Turpin) at lock?

Giving Cheese another week shouldn`t kill anyone's chances.

Safest play is to wait a week in my opinion, see a more roosters like performance and less HIA`s (Hopefully)

I think I like BMM more than picking up Ford or Loiero as he's cheaper and in theory has similar (possibly better even) job security, but gonna stick with Carty based on my having fun strategy this year

Ford will be the best of those 4, because he is the only one I did not pick.

    I decided a Storm edge > Warriors edge...it's a marginal call.
