So if I go Uto to Carty and Cheese to Tohu team would be this:

    78k spare 34 trades (til round 20)

    Grant
    Haas Hopgood Tohu
    Katoa Loiero
    Cleary Douiehi
    Thompson Alamoti
    Talau Miller Warbrick

    Boyd E. Butcher Ford Turbo
    Carty BMM Trindall Doorey

    Thoughts please?

True, but whoever said he was the wrong Egan and the wrong Butcher at least got a quality post in.

Did everyone drafting in a Mahoney, Tohu, Robson etc start with one gun too few or are you blowing your budget too early to squeeze in an extra gun (or going sideways)?

Yes you should pick up guns when their price bottoms out but round 2 might be a bit too soon if you sacrificing money making potential.

Sideways is a bit knee jerk but is probably fine if you're convinced it's a good move.

There has been much discussion on here that with very few exceptions starting EDGs get 60+ minutes and do well at fantasy.

    Thanks
So even a one round sample makes it business as usual then like previous years then.
    Good to know
Makes Ben Murdoch Masila a no brainer this week then

The annoying thing was, everything looked set up for bigger minutes, but it didn't eventuate.

Whyte got 10 more minutes, Baker came on when 18th man was enabled, Turpin played 63 minutes.

He gets 40 minutes instead for 40 points and he is in the conversation as a trade in this round.

    Why E Katoa though?

I don't even know if you guys are joking or not, but Murdoch Masila is quite tempting

What's the risk? Fuimaono? Bird to edge and JDB to lock? Billy Burns?

Im not joking..its the easiest money you'll make in this game.

But i wanted to get thompson and carty already this week (low BEs).

If carty is benched to start the game tonight (always a possibility lol) then ill get BMM instead

Maybe i should just leave the shit centres and get both

Oh, dumb in terms of silly is good, but I meant dumb in terms of ‘if people have to keep asking who you’re talking about when using a nickname, then it’s a dumb nickname’

It’s like calling Kamikamica ‘Ford’ because the end of his name sounds like ‘car’ Laughing

I just see one name mentioned so I assume this is purely down to which one you own?
    Confused that’s all

    My 2 cents:

    - Previous pedigree (Carty 45 avg in second row vs Chee Kam 37)
    - Lower BE (Carty -3 vs Chee Kam 2)
    - More sustainable stats (Chee Kam needed 2 TO tackles and a KD to reach 48)
    - Higher ownership to mitigate risk (Carty 22.3% vs Chee Kam 4.7%)
    - Better JS in theory (Host due back next round, Lane due back R5-7, potential for Carty to overtake Doorey even then, zero chance Chee Kam overtakes Koala)
    - Better draw (Souths have Penrith x2, Melb x2 an Roosters before round 10)

Both starting in injury depleted teams
Both in good stable teams and there on merit
Both had great start to their careers but the last few years been bench players
    Low break evens
Carty has a history (at times, not all the time), of being a fantasy gun, capable of a 50 average at EDG. MCK scored 10 points over his average as a starting EDG of 37.

I wasn't joking either that list is what made me reconsider. I'm wavering on the Carty trade in.

Giving someone a nickname that is also the actual name of another player in the same position is even better.

When is Ford back from injury?
