I have no doubt he is still a quality player but I don't think he comes close to the being the best fullback in the league any further.

His run meters have dropped off, he doesn't appear willing to do as much of the hard yards as he used to. He seems to look to pass before running and he seems to have lost that explosiveness that used to make him so dangerous.

The Roosters can get by with him being a ball playing full back as they have enough explosiveness especially with manu at 6 but I def think he is on the way down and could be darius like by the end of his contract

Ponga playing Origin feels a bit suspect to me.

With his now well known struggles with concussion it will feel like the NRL cares more about the spectacle than the players health. Origin is like NRL on drugs so it doesn’t feel like the arena for someone like Ponga to be thrown into, talented or not

If he’s ok for NRL, he’s ok for Origin.

Don’t see how you can draw a line between the two

Feels a bit unfair on him but that's the way the cookie falls off the ducks back.

I don't know what's happening? the harder I try the more points they keep taking off me? - Seems Mulvy's advice just seems to be knocking ranking points off me, so might have to look for an alternative strategy.

    The weird thing is our teams are really very similar;
Main differences: Harris v Matterson, Reynolds v Johnson, Turbo v Mitchell, Hands v Grant.

That's basically it - the rest is either identical or fairly equivalent NPR's.
Of those 4 differences, it's really just the Grant v Hands that's notable - Which shows how a little sneeze of good fortune can make quite a dramatic change in momentum

Mitchell and the attitude seem inseparable concepts - if the two were rendered apart the fabric of the universe would likely collapse

Hey Finchy, just looked this up. In 2022 Keary missed rounds 15-18 and x2 was Manu at 5/8 (not sure the other 2, maybe byes) and 2021 Keary missed round 4 onwards and again x2 was Manu and x15 was Drew Hutchinson..

It’s just seems a bit more feral (passionate, harder hitting) than ya run of the mill NRL game.

Less likely to get penalised, sin binned, or suspended for it in Origin too. Played under different rules.

Had anyone commented on the weirdness of Burton being named at 7 this week and Flanagan at 6? Highly rated youngster Oloapu (230k) on the extended bench. Am watching out...

His current form is a product of the Roosters team just playing like absolute shite, in reality a fullback isn't going to flourish when his team has a completion rate of under 80% in 5/6 games.

I have no doubt when/if the team picks up then so will Teddy.

He got to 37 points doing fuck all last game, the first 20 minutes of the game was horrendous to watch as an owner because it was a 7-0 penalty count to the Sharks within the opening 20 mins so essentially that's 20 minutes of the game gone for Teddy whilst he watches his side defend set after set.

I can see the frustration but I will be holding him for sure

From what I’ve seen Bulldogs fans want Olopu as a late in and are also screaming for Skelton (230k, centre in Fantasy) on the wing. I think I’ll be getting on Skelton if he gets a start.

Wouldn't that one be more temporary as cover for the Averillo injury?

Someone here posted both have not been named in NSW Cup this week. suggests debuts are possible

Olapau had huge wraps. Would expect he initially scores like other young halves (Amone, Katoa) but at 230k could do worse.

No idea about Skelton but isn’t Kiraz back soon?

He was younger then, but Teddy was the best fullback in the game whilst he was at the Tigers.

In fact when he first moved to the Roosters, people were worried his scoring would drop off because he wouldn't be relied upon to do everything in attack

Internet fans of losing teams always scream for random juniors to get promoted (and/or existing first graders to be played out of position)

Doesn't necessarily mean that its a move worth making

Flanagan sucks so they have to do something about that position eventually.

Problem is Burton seems better suited to a wide running 6 than guiding the team around. But im sure he has the ability to evolve over time

They said on 360 that the reason is they want Burton to be on the ball more and not wait for the ball to come to him and that Olapau is close to a debut but it won't be this week.
