Having never actually see him play, I'll just make a mattnz-type claim and assert that once Te Whare gets a first grade start it will be his for the year

I think id want to have a look at him this week, they have a bye next week then if he is picked again would be a good cash out and a rd 13 number

Yeah handy cash out to play in WFB that round if you’re not convinced Drinky or Gutho are buys

Not sure if he will. Here is his highlights reel from last season, so you can see why there is interest.
I could double cow to get him with Bula and be able to also get Cleary this week, which will be a nice addition to the team. Very few guns actually gunning it, and byes are very friendly for him, with only missing the 2 Origin games the rest of the season. Have been impressed with his scoring without goal kicking, which he will get back. Will need both him and Hynes, so might as well grab him when the cash is there to do so, without tearing the team apart.

Sometimes you'll get a few tackles out of him as well to pad his score

Te Whare literally translates to The House which is a big selling point imo.

Looks like he works a sideline with Brenko Lee in the concreting business

Sutton, Pele and F Brown are to return. Minutes will reduce or back in reserve grade.

with the bye coming up might be worth giving him a week and then going with Oloaupo instead then get Te Whare in 2 weeks.

On the face of it Alamoti -> Te Whare seems like a nice cashdown, until I remembered the Dolphins have the bye next week and it'd leave me a centre short with both Lem and Te Whare out. Annoying.

Horsburgh is potentially the kind of player I miss every year. So, just checking to see what I am missing:
TLDR: To be worthwhile, Horse seems to need 10 more minutes than Elliot got as starting lock without much drop off in ppm. Why will get this?
- What Minutes Will He Play and Who's Minutes Is He Getting :
- In 2022, the three big mids were Elliot (54.9mins as starting lock), Tapine (50.9), Papa (49.3). That leaves 84.9minutes for 3 reserves at 28mins each. (Horse was taking about 40 of these).
In 2022, Elliot started lock in 13 games. With average of 54.9mins, not once did he play over 70. He played over 65mins only once.
If he is an Elliott replacement, does that mean he gets around 54 minutes too? Or is he different, and he gets more? Say 70, like last 3 weeks?
In 2023, Tapine (49.3mins), Papa (47.0 as starting prop) are about the same as 2022. If Horse gets 70mins, then that leaves only 73mins for 3 reserves (24 mins each). Is it that there is no strong fourth reserve this year, and that's why Horse gets the minutes?
- 2: What PPM will he Get?:
- Over his career his PPM gets lower the longer the minutes.
<30mins = 1.03ppm
30-40mins = 1.01
40-50mins = 1.00
50-60 mins = 0.93 (a marked drop here)
60+ = 0.90
He has only had 5 games over 60, so a small sample size too. If I calculated this before last weeks game, easily his highest ever fantasy score, the 60+ would be 0.85ppm. Personally, I think that's more realistic.
- 3: Putting it all together?:
- Horse is priced at about a 47 average.
> If he gets Elliot's minutes and keeps his historic ppm, he'll score 51. Not a keeper.
> If he gets 70 minutes (Elliot + 15), and keeps 0.9ppm, he'll score 63. A keeper.
> If he gets 70 mins at 0.85ppm (more likely imo), he'll score 60. A keeper.
Personally, I keep thinking best case is perhaps 65mins at 0.85ppm = 55.
TLDR: To be worthwhile, Horse seems to need 10 more minutes than Elliot got as starting lock without much drop off in ppm. Why will get this?

Looks like a house tbh. Chonkiest CTR in a while
Here's what I learned from the Dolphins doco on Stan, where he as featured heavily
- O'Sullivan been watching him a long time (since Warriors day)
- rugby background, took time off for mental health reasons (assume during COVID)
- O'Sullivan says has all the skills (footy player rather than an athlete)
- Dolphins signed him very early to a dev deal, he played a full season of QRL last year while working as a groundsman
- highlight reel looks extremely hard to tackle
- Was Qld Cup CTR of the year (this wasn't on the doco, but on the Internets)
I can't go there because of byes (have 3 Dolphins already) but if he does get picked and you believe he's there on merit, definitely appears to have the talent to succeed
