Random memory just came to mind somewhat footy player related. Turned up to a mates place for pre-drinks before a Broncos game around 10 years ago. Met a fella there and said "mate, you sure you should be drinking with a game tonight?" as he was a splitting image of matt gillett. turned out he was his brother.

    Love the fresh prince leaderboard

Madness to not bring in JDB despite him being a massive nineball? How long do we think he can/will keep up 70-80 minute games? Basically 65-70 point player at those minutes so still underpriced

Right now I've got Hopgood on my list ahead of him for the following reasons:

    * Covers both 13 and 16 and doesn't miss round 20 when a lot of these Origin-period guys have a bye (JDB, Horse, Tapine, Tatola etc.)

    * Dual position - means I can sell Hosking to a MID if I need another one (probably won't do that but I could) and play Hoppy on the edge.

    * Slightly cheaper

That said I don't think you can really go wrong with either one

I’d say he keeps that spot as long as Griffin keeps that spot…

Spoiler: they don't give a shit

Especially when it would be trivial to prove everyone is a different person.

Finally had some free time to catch up on things, spent the last hour reading through some classic stories.

Had a crap round and dropped 100+ rankings. So good to see the forum have the top 3 atm overall though!

Only played GPS cricket in high school but got a couple of cool stories from then. One was playing a trial against a NZ school team. Their opener ans captain was Tom Latham!

A story that goes down well at parties after a few beers. Funny part was that I'd also forgotten about this until an old school mate reminded me of this again 5 years ago!

So we had the billeting system for a school cricket comp called 5 highs. Eg Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth High (Kent st).
Year 11, it was in Sydney so I was hosting. We had 2 kids. From Perth. Decent kids - stayed with us for 5 days.

Next year. I was in year 12 and captain of the team. We were staying with a family in Adelaide and I thought I'd check if the kids that stayed at my place were playing still. One was!

So we beat them in a close game. After we won, I walked over to their change room. Chucked a pair of undies at one of their players and said "you forgot this at my place last year". (Probably was done more awkwardly by a 17 y.o me haha).

That guy I threw the undies at was Marcus Harris, the recent Australian opening batsman 🤣

His court case is actually coming up soon IIRC

If he was removed from no fault stand down may affect Luki later in Origin period?

On the topic of throwback stories, I was school mates with a fair few league and union players, one year our team had all of:

    Suliasi Vunivalu (Storm/Reds)
    Finlay Christie (Blues/All Blacks)
    Blake Gibson (Blues/All Blacks)
    Dalton Papalii (Blues/All Blacks)
    Sam Nock (Blues)
    TJ Faiane (Blues)
    Braydon Ennor (Crusaders/All Blacks)

Needless to say we won the comp. (I wasn't on the field but I was in charge of organizing the piss up after the game).

Think that part of it was just a coincidence. Like weeks after we noticed a random pair of undies in the washing and then couldn't be bothered throwing it out or something haha. Good story nonetheless!
