I expect that Mikaele is the big beneficiary of this news. Should lock him in at bench prop. Potentially ends up with a starting spot if Lolo doesn't pull his socks up early.

    Payten change things up? lol

I want to start with Mikaele, but Lolo is going to start and McLean is apparently an immovable object, then theres Griffin who'll be first up off the bench. Its tricky for mins then between McIntyre (he will get mins they love him), Mikaele and Granville (todds son)

Mikaele would be getting 30 mins if i was coach, but that seems like his realistic ceiling atm. He might be a decent slow burn with patience.

I've got a nagging suspicion that Mikaele is that guy that tears it up in the trials (despite giving no indication he was a terror previously) and then becomes a 20 min bench prop who is in and out of the team week to week. Payton loves Granville.

haha yeah there are a few players every year that trial well against reserve graders and then fade away during the week in week out.

I've landed on a team I'm relatively happy with for the time being.

Main concern is with cover at MID and WFB

    Lussick
    Haas, Murray, Tupouniua
    Wong, Piakura
    Cleary, Hunt
    Kris, Strange
    Papy, RTS, Bostock

    Luki, Hutch, SHughes, Api
    Salmon, Burbo, Mikaele, Weekes

Lolo played 6 games off the bench last season. Not a locked in starter any more.

Cheese does not have a bench HOK - I am now reconsidering whether to ditch him

I would consider Sandon more likely to be covering just HOK minutes, than if it was Watson covering both HOK and lock.

I've ditched Cheese for Wong and not really interested in the Eels HKs. Just Cook at the moment and maybe Levi if he starts.

I think Cheese is a few points underpriced, but probably not the 7-8 points I was hoping for. Decent chance he scores closer to 40 than 45, let alone 50.

Not trusting that Lussick will be an 80 min HK for the opening rounds, especially in the early season heat.

Cheese starting HK with Sandon INT has him averaging 42 in 59 mins from 5 games for whatever it's worth.

Where did he play in the trials... Is he big enough to defend for any decent amount of time in the MID (176 cm; 82 kg)

What’s your plan B if the Parra HOK job is shared? Same with Weekes /Strange -they are both competing for the same spot. Salmon gets Mid if named at lock so that covers your mid issue -the only problem with that is Curran could still get that spot instead.

i'm mostly picking BS9 in the hope roosters start to click and he adds a bunch of attacking points. 45 is reasonably achievable but it wont surprise if it doesnt work out. the other options seem boring or too expensive.

Pretty sure I saw Mikaele himself in a Wests trial a few years ago and thought, well there's a potential gun forward, will keep an eye out for him, and now it's several years later somehow.

Yeah, Sandon is there to spell Cheese, but also cover backline injuries, which he did pretty well in the finals last year. Looks like Watson has beefed up quite a bit from the days he used to play in the backs.

When you said bottom four teams have to do a lot of defence, I’d assumed this was going to be a post about his tackle count Laughing

There was a 54 in 66 mins and 44 in 62 mins (try) in finals also

I don’t know which argument this supports

Watson has started 8 games at lock.

Radley is 92 kg, Watson 89 kg.

Yeah I had him locked in until yesterday. All my filters tell me he's good for at least 40. 45 definitely achievable even if not playing 80. That 2021 season does skew results at times though. Freeing up the 100k to take into TLT2 is just too tempting and watching Cheese I feel like I'm praying for no injuries constantly (like with every player, but more so Cheese).

No gun forwards for me and CTRs possibly an issue with Xerri and Strange, so might be wise to have some cash and leave some downgrade options open.

Worse case with Cheese (other than injury, which is far from impossible) is he cranks out a run of 60-minute 40s and stays the same price. Best case, he gears up on attacking stats and goes 50+ for a while. Reality probably in between.

There might be better value picks at his price in other positions, but as far as "fun" goes, there are only three hookers who can imagine giving you a happy (ending) weekend by scoring a 75+ and two of those are over 750k.
