I’ll be extremely surprised if the Roosters run out 1-17.
No idea what will change but I’d bet my left nut there will be changes.

Disclaimer - not actually going to bet my left nut.

Is Cheese at mid the best insurance policy against the Parra HOK 80 failing to materialise? I have Grant at HOK also. The other option is go Cotter at Mid instead and pray!

Nat was a middle before he was an edge, wasn't he? Vast majority of his games were as mid interchange up until 2022. Filled in (very well) a edge when Sitili had long-term injury and Angus lost form and had mental health issues, but maybe he's just reverting now?

Egan isn't really good enough for the Roosters best 17,

Sandon Smith seems to have won bench utility over Watson on merit having been very good at the end of last year and with Watson coming back from injury.

Angus... maybe he hasn't really got his form back, and is possibly off to rugby at the end of the year.

For everyone saying Tatola is boring. he is

But Taumalolo is cheaper, and certainly not boring.

I'm quite keen on joining the Lolo bounce back brigade. COuld be frustrating playing Lolo minutes watch, but better than sitting there hoping Mikaele eeks out an extra 5 minutes

Agree, pretty sure he’s at his floor price wise now (famous last words). No byes for a while and could be fun(ish).

Hess is out for the season as well.

Those are pretty much the yin and yang of each other. Pick both Lolo and Mikaele and you achieve equilibrium.

Seeing lots of quality teams in here will be a good year.

So if you had the choice between Tatola and Arrow who are you taking?

Willison will be replaced by Taupau for the Vegas game with rumours he might not be the only change as well.

I just finalised my team and noticed my centres are 3 vikings and Burbo. What could possibly go wrong. If Burbo flops and or Strange isn’t selected then Russell comes in. Inspiring stuff regardless! Got to love Fantasy!

Does this make Granville suddenly relevant or just Mikaele and Lolo?

Is it crazy to not run with either of Lussick or Cheese? I'm really warming into a Grant/Boyd combination. But not sure if its a bit risky ditching both popular picks.

Did you watch him in the trials? I want to believe, but it was a pretty woeful effort.

Sad really, he had a rubbish team for years and really tried to carry. Seems rolls have reversed.

Fair bit of value though if he can bounce back. Still only 30 years old.

My theory is that it's okay to take shit scores in WFB CTR as long as you make up for it with the saved cash elsewhere.

A nice example is Penisini and Murray vs Haas, Arthars and 150k to upgrade elsewhere. The extra cash saved could turn someone like Flanagan into a Luki/Curran/Flegler who should comfortably outscore.

It's not just looking in isolation and saying "my centres scored like shit this week" it's looking at the entire team scoring/cash gen while the "guns" drop cash

Last season it was better to spend up a bit for CTRs with upside potential, than to go bargain basement with HSS or Talau. The better options were guys like HTF that scored well and gained value.

This year if you can get guys like Kiraz at CTR or Rapana at fullback, that both likely have value and have job security, you can have a much easier time of it and better scoring than relying on Burbo, Schiller, Cotric, Kini, Gagai etc. Using the cash freed up to go to gun range forwards like Haas, just means you are paying a premium and missing the many value mid range forwards.

I expect that Mikaele is the big beneficiary of this news. Should lock him in at bench prop. Potentially ends up with a starting spot if Lolo doesn't pull his socks up early.
