I'm still quite high on Hutch. I think a 40-45 point average is well achievable, which at that price point is great.

If I end up starting with Plath, I will happily re-look at my hooker options and can comfortably ditch Boyd

I love the insurance and cover Boyd offers for certain team compostions. Not much value, but great backup IF Hutch does get punted especially while running as your second half, also covers Grant in Round 4. That said, if Plath gets the start running him and say a Levi is probably just as good and more cost effective.

    Paps Turbo Rapana

    Lussick, Luki, Hutch, Salmon

Hughes, Cotric, Bradley (or whichever cheapie shows up TLTB), Mikaele

    Thoughts lads?

Burbo Strange Cotric could pay off but more likely will result in trades having to be used there and downgrading of other spots. maybe turn one of Turbo Rapana into a Centre option just so your relying on 1 cheap WFB and 1 cheap CTR rather than 2 Cheap CTR

Any chance Weekes gets picked at FB and Strange at 5/8? Weekes moved clubs for a reason and plays FB.

EDIT : forget that. He's useless anywhere Laughing

What's happening with Pryce? Barry Toohey rubbished rumour that he plays centre and Gagai wing yeah?

I’d imagine it will be tuala wing and Lucas 2nd row with both poms have to earn their spots but both are very talented. KPP is closer than pryce at this stage

Cogger Hastings I see changing potentially early to mid season. If that happens I think jacko wouldn’t hang around too long either but see what happens there

Fox reporting big Marty is likely to come in for Willison, with Xavier with the reserves in training

I’m dodging either way but good for thought for the believers. He looks like a mid season purchase

I was really keen on Lucas but assumed he wouldnt win the starting spot. Pretty risky medium term as well if the poms push him out. Like watching him though

I've been nonstop tinkering around with the squad since Tuesday. Deciding to lock in my Vegas squad: Cleary, Haas, Sitili, Wong, Piakura and Burbo and not gonna touch it until TLT2. Posting to keep myself accountable

    @Mulvy as well

I've really come round to Boyd. Originally just a great cover option for my starting halves which included Hutch, it frees up more opportunity to load up on mid/edg cheapies which is where the value lies. I'm not gonna turn my nose up at an almost guaranteed 45 points every week. As mentioned previously, you can get away with a safe, valued at their average, type player. Guaranteed points and cover help earliy season as much as cash generation. Have to assume that's what most people are doing with Haas, I'm just doing it with the cheaper Boyd instead.

I may still just rock with Boyd and Levi based on this, just really not enamored with Levi, even if he wins the starting role.

Having that time pressure is a bit of a worry too. It's the reason I changed from Grant to Cook, with a rd4 bye, you kinda need to start with cover. With Cook I can worry about that later.

On a podcast NRL Physio thinks worth gambling on Kini holding a spot for longer than 3 weeks and Campbell not rushed back. I'm not so sure

I can still see Mapalangi getting WING over Tuali - but we have to wait until Tuesday to find out

Due to byes/Vegas, Gold Coast only play 1 game in the next 3 weeks. Does he mean 3 rounds?

I'm just hoping we get some sort of update next week to make a more informed decision

Reuben Cotter not seeing much chat here, but he's very popular in the community team.

If he gets starting lock, he is underpriced by 1 point based on last year in that position. everyone just hoping he'll go back to 2022 scoring?
(edit, underpriced by close 5 points if you ignore 25 minute effort in R18)
